Beaver canals

80 votes

Real life beavers don’t like walking. They prefer to dig canals (normally without explosives) they use for travel. Safe and fast.

Suggested als alternative besides the paths:

Canals dug by beavers, possibly some log requirement, as in nature they use branches and twigs to prevent collapse.

The canals would function as paths but allow for faster movement.

When not connected to a water source, they only work in irrigated soil. Without irrigation the canal falls dry and give a heavy penaly on movement speed (lots slower than normal paths or normal ground.

When they are connected to a water source they can extend the irrigation like an explosively dug canal, but for a limited range. Say 3-4 tiles.
