Assign building settings while in progress of construction (warehouse accept list)
primarily, storages. it would be incredibly useful to be able to set what's allowed and quantities before it's finished, rather than scrambling to set them when it finishes and there's already 80 items on its way to the new storage.

jfs MergedMake it possible to set the accepts/deny/desired goods settings for a warehouse while it's still under construction.
This would make it less frustrating to place down warehouses you want for specific goods, since you can place it down and configure it, and then go do something else without having to worry about when it finishes building.
Right now, you have to place it down, wait for it to construct, and then configure it. If you don't watch over the construction and pause the game as soon as it finishes, there's a good risk the beavers will quickly fill it with 200 berries, when you wanted one reserved for potatoes only. -

zachary jones MergedIf you want to build an organised storage area you have to build a warehouse, wait until it's finished then come back and choose what can go in it. It can make it difficult to keep track of and you can come back to a warehouse to find it's already full of something you don't want stored yet. (like wheat for example).

SkinkHeaven MergedA building's settings are only shown when beavers finish constructing it. It would be a huge QOL improvement if these settings were available the moment I place it.
Planing out buildings in advance is clearly a fundamental game mechanic (we have a priority system!). Yet I spend 50% of my time placing a building then being forced to watch it until construction is complete so I can quickly pause to adjust its settings, for fear of forgetting about it and causing a catastrophe!
Worst example is when I place warehouses to hold a single specific resource. They initialise defaulting to "accept all", only to fill up with random crap. Also a huge pain for farms and floodgates, probably others too...
No default could ever cover all circumstances E.g. early game I prefer warehouses to initialise to "accept all", late game to "accept none". Better to let the user choose initial settings than waste effort trying to find elusive "perfect defaults".

Tom MergedWhen you order a warehouse to be built, you should be able to set the limits before it is built....that way you don't have to watch it get constructed to prevent unwanted items from getting stored there.

RB MergedYou know those beavers, If you're not keeping an eye on building process, you can find your new warehouse already eagerly stuffed with whatever you don't want there. For example, I never connect warehouses to have an ability to set them before use.

Bart MergedUse case: many times I want to build a dedicated storage for a particular thing but by the time I notice it has been built and I want to setup storage types it is already full of berries and other junk.
Same for many other building I place for a purpose: I would like to be able to set them up while they are building so I don't have to go back later. It becomes a hassle when there is a lot going on. -

G2O MergedIt would be cool and time efficient if we could select/unselect what we want to store while the storage is being built. Just show the UI in the warehouse info panel. That way I can put the blueprint and configure the storage and move on.

Gannonite MergedI'd love to be able to set the limits on what a warehouse accepts before it is finished being built. I often find myself building more warehouses when I've hit my storage limit. If I have multiple districts set up and I'm not around when a warehouse is finished, it tends to get filled pretty quickly with stuff I don't want when I'm already at my limit on storage capacity, and then it can take a really long time to empty it with nowhere else to put the contents. This leads to a lot of boring moments watching for warehouses to get filled.

dazo MergedI would like to be able to setup the goods allowed/forbiden while the warehouse is not built yet.
Everytime I have to follow the progression of the construction to avoid my beaver to put their small diverse good inside and mess my flow :p
The trick I use to avoid this is i don't connect it to district before I can setup it.. but it's not clean gameplay ! :))

Derrick MergedIt would be really nice to set warehouse my warehouse storage up before it's been built. That way when I come back to the warehouse, I don't find it full of a bunch of crap I wasn't intending for it.
That way I can build a bunch of warehouses at once with all the platforms and paths necessary, and each one be designated with what's going into it. -

latyper MergedAllowable storage on warehouses should be modifiable prior to the completion of the warehouse. Currently, if - for example - I want a warehouse for carrots I have to wait until the warehouse is finished before I can set the warehouse to only accept carrots. I should be able to make that adjustment as soon as the warehouse is placed instead of having to wait for it to be finished.

Dean Hunt MergedProbably mentioned already, but seriously need to be able to set storage and resource limits when placing the storage blueprint so as they are set as soon as it is built. Otherwise we forget or do not get to it in time to find it full of unwanted resources. If it was set to none by default before build, we would likely still forget and it would stay empty ! So need to be able to set it when placing the building. Keep up the great work !

BenTheVaporeon Mergedbuilding storages such as large warehouses and underground warehouses takes a large amount of time, and i often find myself placing them and having to watch them until they are completed to prevent them from being filled with berries that don't get emptied right away,(not always berries but common)
it would be nice if i could change the list before they finished, so it would be possible to set up a scrap metal only storage right next to smelters and such -

Ruxo MergedRight now we have to carefully check whether storage has been build to avoid putting there random resources. Only other possibility to avoid that is cutting of road (access) to it at the building stage. Let the toggle on "none" by default or add the option to change that while placing / building storages.

Mark TaylorJust merge this with all other suggestions about buildings being 'off' when they are first built (because building like grills & bakeries do that already). However, then we'd need a new kind of flag (maybe blue?) so that late-game we can keep track of buildings we built and forgot about (happens ALL the time with those aforementioned Grills & Bakeries). Just don't add it to the red 'alerts' that pop-up on the left side of the screen - they already obscure everything on that side.

GOJIRU MergedSome buildings like the bakery allow you to set their options/tasks while they are being built.
For example when I place a bakery I can say I want you to produce bread.
I would like to see this with all buildings that have options, especially the Storage ones.
If you don't monitor your storage buildings, once built they start filling up everything, possible with stuff you didn't want in there. It would be nice to be able to set what storage you want that building to hold when you first place it.
There are other buildings like this as well. -
