Expanding foresters.
So forester is not a full time job as of current and require much more micro then a lot of other jobs.
So expanding them so they plant things and also harvest would be nice. so they can plant trees and chop similar to farmers. They could get berry picking but im not 100% they should might stack the job too much

Jcheung Mergedforesters have a lot of downtime. unless stuff like forest fires are in the works, it would be nice to have him augment the workforce when idle.

Thaina YuI would disagree on forester work on other kind of job except logging, cut tree, pick berry. And maybe transfer log when very idle
This could also let forester can add more worker. maybe 2 workers. 1 one forester building will be like putting both gatherer flag and and lumberjack flag in the same time -

Björn Björkman BäckströmYes, that would be very nice! Let the forester be both planting tree and harvesting them like the farm! Preferably with the ability to toss in a few extra beavers for more capacity to handle the trees. Would look way nicer for permanent wood farms.

Zam! MergedMost of the time foresters in my game stay idle because I use slow growing trees that take a lot of time to mature. I think that foresters should receive an idle action to balance that, but because we don't need another profession that just hauls things when idle, I suggest one fo the following:
- Observe and document nature (generates research, but at slower rate than dedicated tinkerer)
- Help planting crops -

LordRedStone Merged+1 would love to have them generate a small amount of food.
Ranked by preference:
- Gather something unique (new type of food, only satisfies hunger and possibly nutrition 1)
- Improve Forest Health (Stop trees and crops from drying out and dying, especially useful if you can't keep everything watered in the early game)
- Generate Research (sure, I think this would fit best with the game's current economy)
- Planting/harvesting crops or harvesting berries (seems too strong and redundant as they can already plant but not harvest berries) -

JoshLate game my forests are usually large enough that my foresters are never idle even with maple trees but early game it would be nice if they could help with cutting if there's no other work to be done.

BrianMaybe there could be an advanced forester building that has up to 2 workers. It does make sense that they could do something else when off. I just pause them right now.
They could have a secondary job of cutting trees when there are no trees to replant. You'd probably have to change the building to have a storage of 10 logs of some such. -

:)+1 for the 2 workers for the Forester. One worker is simply too slow and building multiple Forester Buildings is somewhat expensive in the early game. Let us have the option to select two, just like with the Farm.

John W BjerkAt the very least, the forester could help haul logs in his area when idle.

Darkkthought GamingIt would also be nice if more Foresters would be able to be hired from one location. In the beginning when planting large plots of trees, berries, and dandelions, being able to have more than 1 forester would be good.
