Allow mirror and/or doorway variation for every building
Drawing path on random generated terrain with a building that have specific waypoint can become totally mess. In many situation is called for building to reflect itself on its axis
Please allow building to mirror like a lodge. And instead of mirror lodge, please add command to allow mirror on every building. Or we might have many version variation that we could toggle between by some hotkey (like a rotation by r). Such as a triple lodge might have 3 version, with left/right/center door
Suspension bridge might allow left/right path in addition to center. And carousel might have 3 way it could place a doorway on left/right/front. This could make us easier plan the village layout and make simpler logistic

James YangSmaller buildings better have only one doorway, but with the freedom to choose which tile the doorway is connected to. Larger buildings and/or buildings with no visible separation (e.g. shrine) can have multiple doorways, as well as taller buildings (e.g. triple lodge - doorways on different height levels).

SimonQuite keen on this feature request; restraints aren't inherently bad but not being able to mirror the building at least feels like quite an artificial one. And it is always a bit frustrating when a mirrored version would fit perfectly but the one offered makes everything look a mess.

EdesRozsaflipping with F would be fantastic, and not just on lodges. The one I found myself wanting it the most was actually the large water tank, though farmhouses were also high on my list.
Also agree that making lodge and mirrored lodge one choice, with the addition of a "flip building" hotkey, would be ideal. -

Mark MergedRather than having a mirrored house option, which is a bit meh, how about when you press rotate it swaps to mirrored version on press 1 then rotates to normal version on press 2 then press 3 mirrored on that angle the press again rotates to normal. so 8 presses will rotate 360 degrees and present both mirrored and normal :)

JbuttYes! None of the buildings have text on them, so a simple mirror building modifier key or something for placement wouldn't require any special asset work. Workers and Resources recently added a whole slew of mirrored buildings and it made such a massive difference, so good.

Craig MergedIt would be awesome to allow you to specify where in the building is the entrance (or create multiple entrances into buildings for that matter) E.G. With the Wood Storage allowing a user to click the path into 1 of it's squares would create a path entrance there to the Wood Storage. Also, if you have 4 path squares adjacent to each other (2x2) it really should fill in middle.

I feel that making buildings too adjustable and easily place-able would take away from the clunky Roller Coaster Tycoon feel that the game currently has. Just because other games like City Skylines are soft with bendable roads and hand-hold-y soft building placement, does not mean that every game should adhere to this development of game design. Please allow us to get frustrated that the building is turned the wrong way around and figure out a solution on our own, even if it takes hours! -

VasThere is a mod that does this, but for me its broken (Using experimental version of the game). I would certainly like this in base game but without mirror copies of every building (Like that one hut). I'd prefer if buildings just had a button to toggle the mirror versions or door location. Even on buildings with multiple cells on one side so you can toggle the door to left, center, or right, during placement.

VasWith the fact that the mirrored mod works quite well, I think its pretty likely the devs would be able to integrate this into base game easily. However I just want to state that I hope they don't do it with -every- building, as with some buildings, there's just no reason to mirror. AKA, anything already symmetrical such as platforms or power shafts.
But lets not forget that some buildings, while they have an entrance in the middle (paper mill), have a model that can be flipped which would still be nice to have. It might also be nice to be able to choose the door location on such buildings, maybe some kind of toggle for placing the door in a different spot on the building if thats possible? Probably not, I'm sure the door is integrated into the model file. It would take redoing the model and then adding a door only model then placing two models for each building which may increase system requirements. However, its just a thought I wanted to throw out there. Attached example though. -

It would be so nice to see this implemented globally, with a hotkey as others said but also a checkbox in the building description pane labeled 'mirror' so it's obvious the feature exists. Even if you have to hack it together by including mirrored versions of all the assets please make it happen. That Large Water Tank is somehow backwards at least 80% of the time.

GideonDeltaInstead of "mirrored" how about just have buildings dynamically adjust entrances based on the path way, OR, have an interface option to move the entrance by clicking on the building once it's been placed and the entrance updates? Maybe if you hold a key while aligning the building's ghost you can modify it's arrangement. This way you can keep the hotbar clean from a billion different iterations.

They wouldn't need to be their separate building with the text (mirrored), but there could be a button like for example shift+e or shift+t to mirror the chosen building. The floodgate cornerpiece is just a visual conformity, which would make angled floodgate contraptions look more compelling.

This is so handy that it should be incorporated in the game.
Then, you could even remove the second one-floor house (which is a nonsense, since there is no such alternatives for bigger houses). -

Y'shtolaMirror is one option. But I think a better would be to remove the Power Inputs from the front of buildings. And instead situate it on the back. Maybe also on the sides. Leaving the door free for pathing.
Example in the included image. A lumber mill and a gear building side-by-side with a path in front. If you have power coming in from the left side, you can see the T-junction feeding power into the Mill, while continuing onward to the elbow that feeds power into the gear building.
Feels way more tidy this way, versus having the input remain on the front of these two. -

This is how ugly it would look using a mirror, assuming the gear building was mirrored, so the power inputs are in the center.
You need platforms and high-power pieces to keep a clean path below.
It's enough to hurt the heart of any beaver engineer, at such inefficiency and waste. -

Andreas MergedHi, building lodges is cool because you can build mirrored ones, the entrances vary and that allows for more complex and intricate house building.
But all the other ones , like saw mill,workshops, tanks and all the other big buildings always have their entrance on the same side. Would be mega to have it like you have it with lodges.
Utilization of space would be much more efficient,and building in general would be much more fun. -

VasThe addition of mirroring buildings in base game would be great, as the mod is currently broken. However that wouldn't solve certain buildings which have a doorway only in the center.
I think it'd be nice if we could build the doorway where we wanted, on an acceptable side/surface. The doorway would be free, instant, and allow only one per building. Even better, if we could merge buildings of similar type together with internal doorways. Say for example, you have two lumber mills in a row, one building behind the other or even side by side. Beavers can knock out the wall in between them and it'd end up acting like a single building of sorts, where they use the door to the one in front to get to the one in back. Climbing out "through a window" if you destroy the building in front while they wait for you to put in a door. This should only work with buildings of similar type. Maybe even the exact same type. (Though, imagine combining mill with gear for efficiency boost!) -

Tweek MergedAn option next to the construction panels, which would allow you to build in symmetry.
And, for each building given its opposite symmetry. for ALL, dont forget the buildings with a central entrace. if its not totaly symetrycal to base, creat him symetrycal twin.
(for example: for a building with a central entrance, but with a window only on the right... for example! we would have this same building, just above its pop-up construction panel in symmetrical opposition.) and of curse, same for the buildings wityhth entrance to right or other way.. ^^
this could be an Artistic advancement. (unlocked via technological advancement... why not a quarter of what it would have cost to unlock the base building.. or for innate buildings, a SMALL amount of development points)
this will be a truly MAJOR step forward in terms of artistic possibilities for our colonies.
