Please add a power transmission on/off switch
It would be handy to isolate groups of buildings when you don't need them, or power is low.

Potential_Hazard MergedI think it would be nice to add a wooden switch that can prevent power from flowing through. This would mean that if you had all your buildings connected to your power farm through a single power shaft, you could simple turn off the power instead of having to pause all the buildings individually

jakei had as a separate suggestion: Add a building or switch that only connects power networks under conditions.

ie Day/night, wet/dry season, weather, network under load disconnect.
Use case: Disconnect production at night so carnival can run , disconnect water wheels and extra production in dry season. Manual disconnect -

Don MergedIt would be a nice addition to the power tab to have a friction clutch block of some sort that the player can use to turn on/off to disconnect/redirect power to certain buildings, etc from the main power train.

Alain MergedIt would be nice to have a "power divider" building that could connect 2 separate power networks. When the divider is "on", both networks are linked into a single one. When the divider is "off", the networks are separate. This would help when you have a critical installation that you want to be running regardless of whatever happens in the rest of the network (for example, water pumps...)

Climbing BeaverMy suggestion for the implementation of the topic:
Goal:
- make it as a advanced mid game mechanic.
- possible automated late game mechanic
Ressources: 1250 Science
Building:
1 Steel (for the bar)
2 Gears (for transmition)
2 logs (structure)
3D-Model:
Use straight power shaft model, with a 30° upwards turned beam, when on break.
3 possible Game mechanics:
A) Building has a break button, which is toggled by the player - instant result
B) Building has a break possiblity, which which is chosen by the player but, adjusted by a builder beaver. basicly have two stages of being built - and the beaver has to "build" the other stage.
C) Similiar to B, but have a dedicated building for it. Beaver is assinged to switches in a mechanic similiar to the distibution post to avoid overloading them.
late game mechanic
C1) Possibility to choose a refernce object with the switch. (Battery, Stream Gauge, sun clock, etc)
MY favorite is option C, because it has a bigger automatisation potential. -

Hacks MergedAdd a clutch piece that allows you to disconnect an apparatus from the power line without destroying a power shaft.(basically a switch) this would allow power to be more directed to whare you want while simultaneously disconnecting a load to something that isn't requiring any power at present.

Alron MergedAdd a power shaft that can be turned on or off, so it either transmits power or it doesn't. This trigger could be set manually (for convenience), or by requiring a certain amount of flow of a specific fluid. In combination with powered flood gates, this could alleviate the micromanagement of flood gates and prevent flooding my reservoir with badwater (opps!).

A gearbox switch to join / isolate power networks.
My goal is to have a unified power network, but in pratice, that could be usefull to isolate network and join them depending of the current demand / production.
It respond for the middle-game.
If I want to achieve that. I can break a shaft, but I have to rebuild it again.

Pallro MergedI feel like there should be an on/off power shaft to act as a switch for when you don't want energy to go to a certain place at a certain time.
You could switch it in a small menu like the floodgates have. -
