Cliff overhang platforms: To build againts cliffs
The idea is to have platforms that can be built directly against the cliffs.
There can be 1x1 platforms to have paths, but also 1x2 and 1x3 to allow building houses on it.
Platforms are reinforced with a wooden beam, and requires the same size vertically (1x2 platform, also require 2 vertical spaces).
It may also require a specific platform variation to handle cliffs angles.

I love platform, I really do, but I need more. Why not suspended platform ?
Suspended platform would be attached to a natural wall only, why not any wall ? To prevent suspended platform chains (see 100% handmade drawing).
Suspended platform could be placed above non-solid building, depending on their heights, or plantations and trees.
I think it would be a great addition for building lovers.

Chameleon777Some kind of scaffold would be cool for terraforming. Those high peaks can be a real pain to get rid of using standard platforms and stairs. Perhaps some kind of zone marking so beavers will automatically build climbable structures up along cliff walls to get to where they need to build stuff within the marked zone, but the drawback being the scaffolds use metal.

MaxI love this but i think 3x long is too much unless its made of metal. the 2x one should also require 3 ft of vertical space to counter the lever action on the end.

MaxAlso, idk if these should be solid, since that would let you build some pretty lopsided structures assuming you could attatch them to the side of buildings.

DrMinotaur MergedI think that it would be really useful to have a block that can build outwards off of a vertical ledge. This means you can build over not-solid blocks and be able to use the space in the air better. It should probably be very expensive though and use things like metal and treated planks. Also it could be more controlled if you add a sort of weight to blocks, and you wouldn't be able to build on the overhangs if you had too much weight stacked on it.

robbotic MergedSee mockup image. Adding these would allow an extra layer of flexibility in building and aesthetics. They could be balanced by needing metal (such as the longer bridges).
In addition to 1x1, mirrored 1x2 platforms (anchored at either side) would be needed to build platforms that contour around cliff corners. -

Adrian MergedTake for instance the edge of a cliff. You'd like a bit more space but you don't want to build platforms all the way up. So a ledge supported by something like angle brackets would be nice.

Jeimuzu MergedA balcony or shelf that can be built on the side of buildings, cliffs, etc without needing to build platforms underneath. This gets rid of having huge stacks of scaffolding that has to stay when the feature is finished.
They can be built on, but if you want to put metal items on them, the shelf needs to be made of metal to support the weight.
To keep from having huge expanses of flooring, limit it to 1 or 2 blocks out from the building. -

Sampson MergedI would like some sort of wall brace that I could stick onto the side of buildings to create a platform without having to build up. Even if it costs metal, it would still be quite useful to be able to create overhangs with your buildings, and could make for some interesting architecture.

EklabiaanWhen limited to pathing along a cliff face-> OK. With 2 additionals. A side mounted staircase to climb one block (angle 45 deg) and a sloped walkway (2-along the cliff + one up, angle ~ 26 deg) all with 45 degree angled struts underneed to mount them against the cliff wall. See the photo in the post from AlexRonda above.
For me no need to have it as a build-upon platform to extend housing or other buildings. I am not in the habit of building skyscraper-high living quarters. -

Mike MergedLike a regular 1 tier platform, except being supported by four legs it's supported by a knee-brace angled down to a cliff, levee, or platform beside and below it. It's basically a shelf. You could use this to build a path alongside a cliff way up in the air or otherwise support single tile structures (or partially support multi-tile structures) on top of it. It should cost more than a couple triple platforms, probably need some steel in there.
Potentially, you could build another platform on top of the cantilever platform and then cantilever from that one, and keep going to bridge an opening. -

Nathan Whitby MergedPlatforms, but they can stick out off of a ledge with an angled support beam sticking out from the wall next to and under it. Make it cost a bunch of science to unlock. This would allow us to build custom bridges and allow us to build over buildings that previously couldn't have anything over them.
