Backpacks, shoes, tools and other equipment and consumable gear
So the idea here is for a new set of buildings that uses paper and logs to make 'tools' as a consumable resource that the beavers can use to boost their stats (like how they can consume books to satisfy the knowledge stat):
- Backpack maker - perhaps requires a crop such as flax for linen or cotton for... well, cotton but paper is an existing resource. Increases the beavers' carrying capacity and is consumed by all beavers who have a job that carries resources around. They eventually break after a few cycles, so constantly needs to be refreshed.
- Toolmaker - upgrades a builder's speed when building. Tools are eventually broken or require replacement. Metal variant that permanently increases the length of time this stat will be boosted for but only requires wood tools to replenish.
- Shoemaker - increases the beaver's movement speed by making sandals or geta. Consumes planks.
etc.

Malthe MergedIt would be nice to have tools for the workers like carts for haulers, hoes for farmers, axes for wood cutters etc., improving work efficiency.
This could be achieved with a tool maker who could have different recipes for tools - I would suggest most of them requiring metal to make.
Another idea is researchable upgrades in some sort of research centre, which is a slightly more boring option imo. -

Draythix MergedCurrently, there are three main types of items that the beavers will collect for their well-being: food, water, and books. I suggest expanding that with items from a new building (perhaps a workshop?) that can create everyday items that the beavers would use. Tools could increase work speed, while goods (consumer goods, things they would use at home) could give other bonuses. Just a thought!

DelugeA simple Tool or no Tool status of a beaver could suffice. Banished has an excellent example of this. It doesn't need to be as complicated as every profession having it's own specific tool with dedicated tool creating building.

Meat MergedA building that let's you build harnesses and carts for your beavers, or something, maybe even just upgrades for hauling posts and structures that allow the workers to carry more.

LukaGamesr MergedBeavers take a long time to build some things taking the resources 1 in 1, please put some backpacks or carts system

GoldenkaaosCould use cattails to weave baskets, increasing carrying capacity. I feel like beavers gotta basket weave.

Lachlan MergedBeavers can create tools to improve beaver efficiency at certain jobs, i.e. a shovels, rakes, etc for farmers, hammers for builders, carts/trolleys for haulers, axes for lumberjacks!

McleodV MergedExactly as described. A toolsmith building that builds tools using refined iron. Said tools can improve the work efficiency of beavers depending on their occupation. Hoes for farmers, axes for lumberjacks, compass for researchers, hammers for builders/manufacturers, etc.

PlasmaStruckI think it would be nice if backpacks also made it so beavers that have to travel above a certain distance can carry a small amount of water and food to last through the day.
