StroamI could see issues when the water level changes. Perhaps gardens or planters that can go on top of buildings and platforms.

Gin Fuyou AdminStroam, I'm not sure it's that hard to code. Surely some work would be required but it may worth it.

CarrowmoreYou could build arable "land" on dammed up lakes - but perhaps have to provide fertile soil. We could have a mud-dredger job, or a powered mud-dredging building that could only be built above water.

A different KevinConsider the gardens being floating platforms with support poles on each corner - like any dock that moves with the water level. The cubes occupied by the floating platform need to have surface water higher than the base level of the posts for the plants to grow, but if the cube overflows the plants will act like any other flooded crop. The poles can be built on top of other structures, so you can use platforms as a base if the base water level is too deep for your target height.
With higher tech, you can make gardens that have a 2-height or 3-hieght range. For added challenge, harvesting might require access from one level above the current water level. -

RoriI don't think it's something necessary but it could be like hydroponic farms (lettuce).
