Add more Floodgate heights - taller (higher) floodgates
Hi. I'm building a gigantic dam and I found out that the currently available floodgate heights are not enough to easily control the water discharge. I would love to see Quadruple Floodgate, Quintuple Floodgate, Sextuple Floodgate and more. Please see the attached screenshot to know what I mean.
Or is there any other method to control the water discharge to allow to fully empty it?
Best regards.

ThasurIf you can do the Floodgate high adjustment in 0.1 steps would be great. That make it easyer to mange the Waterflow to the perfekt Water Levels

jcheungthe ability to embed a floodgate into the structure would also be nice

FuryoftheStarsI feel like if flood gates were allowed to be stackable, there wouldn’t be a need for so many variations of (essentially) the same thing.

Abadatha MergedI like to build huge reservoirs for water power, and to never have to worry about drying out or thirst, however, there's no good way to fully empty the mill pond reservoir without knocking down a section and then rebuilding it. Proposing some kind of either stackable floodgate, a variable height flood gate, or a gate that can be built as the base of a dam built entirely of levees and still be able to drain it entirely for power if necessary.

Grant MergedIt would be nice to have a flood gate that I
1. Did not need to destroy each time I wanted to raise a dam
2. Goes more than 3 blocks down
It would make large dam projects really cool and open up strategies around water wheel placement, where maximizing flow out of the dam could change the power output -

Ace2dk Mergedwhy not create large sluice so that we could make a large dam and not be satisfied with 3 levels

Edward Williams MergedI believe adding flood gates that go deeper than three blocks would be a great improvement. I've been watching some people play on youtube and I'm really interested in getting the game in the future when funds allow. Several people I've been watching play the game on youtube have been making really tall reservoirs for the iron teeth so they can survive longer in the drought season. The current flood gates only go down three levels and it would be extremely useful if there was an option for flood gates that go deeper than three levels, as this would allow people to further micromanage their massive reservoirs during drought. Thanks for making such a fun-looking game.

amatiusContinuing on the pattern increasing the floodgate height by 1 would eventually reach just another limit.
A more realistic approach would be a single block which levvies can be built upon.
I.e. allows to release water at the bottom of the dam (or on whatever level the player wants, depending on where it was built).
It could be the existing dam piece. But it does not allow the player to control the water flow.
So a piece which can be opened/closed would be a really cool feature which allows the player great freedom. -

JHM MergedAllow floodgate height to be "infinitely" upgradable (aka tall) if the appropriate amount of resources and/or science points are traded for it. For example, each triple floodgate section would cost 100 science points in order to upgrade to a quad floodgate, and have the price increase exponentially per 1 tile height increase.

Thomas Weidner MergedWith evaporation being a main loss of water from lakes during long droughts it makes more sense to build deeper and not larger (i.e. more surface area) lakes. Unfortunately, floodgates are only 3 tiles high at most. While one could use a mechanic water pump to exploit a lake 4 tiles deep and the deep water pump for a lake 6 tiles deep the most straightforward solution would be higher floodgates.
Note, actual dams don't have flood"gates" at all, but drain using an exhaust low in the dam, I guess that this isn't possible with the way water is modelled in timberborn (i.e. it has to be surface water and cannot flow below parts of a dam). -

Mark TaylorStackable floodgates do sound like they'd solve a LOT of problems, and have them only automatically open (if set that way) the ones at their level and above.

Bill MergedIf they only go up the 3 tiles high because of balancing, thats cool, leave it. Otherwise i think it would be cool to have some 5 tile height flood gates, at least.
