avalyst MergedIf you only build 2 small water tanks according to the tutorial there is not enough water to survive the first drought of 4 days. Change the tutorial to recommend building at least 3 tanks.

Nick MergedNo matter how many times I started on normal difficulty on the recommended map I will always die when the first drought hits right after the tutorial. You need about twice the amount of water and food in order to survive with no beaver deaths. Very unforgiving for new players. achievable later on but certainly not on the first couple plays.

Wolfi MergedThe tutorial definitely needs to be revised in some places. The biggest sticking point so far is that you can die very easily in the 1st drought and thus lose all your beavers due to water OR food problems, I had already built 3 water tanks instead of the given 2 and yet all of them died on my 1st attempt. Another minus point is the water wheel: It is not clearly stated how and where to place it, do you place it one space too far into the water and not directly on the edge of the ground? Well, bad luck had 50 wood in the garbage can and you can build again. Apart from the criticism, I have to say that the game has potential to become a very good game and I hope that the developers will continue to create a good game out of it. (Yes, I know it's Early Access) As a first tip, I would recommend that you make it possible that you can place the power lines on the ways and the beavers then run under it.

Noobby Beaver MergedCompleted the tutorial on normal just before the first drought hit, causing everyone to die since all that was built were the two small water storage tanks and the single water pump. Learned a harsh lesson, but would be better if more pumps and/or storage were required to get past that stage before going on to the next. I didn't expect that all the water would be depleted in reserve a couple days before the drought was over.

Electer MergedWhen I followed the tutorial exactly I do not have enough food stored for the first draught ending my game. So maybe the tutorial could use some tweaking making sure there is enough food for the first draught.

Collin Kohberger MergedI was hit with a drought in the middle of the tutorial and it lasted so long everyone died of thirst. You might want to think about when droughts can happen or at least how long they last.
Or instruct players to build enough storage (i had 4) to last a drought. Idk - it was not a great first game experience. -

Anny MergedIn my very first game I was just researching the lumber mill as a drought struck and killed all of my town, maybe there should be like an optional pregame tutorial that doesn't pose dangers such as droughts, and if you choose to skip the tutorial maybe just be thrown into the main game. What should a new player do in case of a drought you know, I haven't even had access to stairs or anything that I maybe could have used to build my way to the last bit of water left on the map, when the water returned everyone was dead. Maybe make it so droughts don't happen so early or maybe not in tutorials, feels a bit unfair, and of course games should be challenging, but in this scenario there was nothing I could do, the water was gone and I was locked in my base with no stairs etc. Ofc you could also just warn players that this can happen and suggest to build more watertanks.

Crow Jenkind MergedIn the tutorial, it tells you nothing about the droughts. My entire beaver population died. EVERYONE IS DEAD BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD TO BUILD A DAMN.

Justin AlvesTook me quite some time to figure out that the first building flags you make have to point towards the path you then build back to the centre in order for the pathing to work; might be worth pointing that out in the tip.

Harrison FjordI honestly thought the tutorial was too hand-holdey to begin with and considered turning it off. At some point you have to let the players figure things out for themselves. (My opinion).

Gin Fuyou AdminHarrison Fjord, well I believe some players might be new to the genre and can't figure it as fast as one like me who played The Settlers, Pharaoh, C:S and more others. And game indeed has some non-intuitive mechanics like power sharing.

alessandro Noè Mergedi played the game for a couple of month, and is all great, the last patch fixed and changed almost any problem i get, but i think that waterlock need a tutorial section, because (im talking for my self) is hard figure out how to use them in the right way.

K MergedWhat is a lumberjack flag?
Answer: A lumberjack flag is where the beavers that will be tasked to gnaw down the trees will work and be based from. Place the flag, and get some beavers assigned to it. Then mark the area of trees you wish them to harvest. The beavers working that flag will go out and cut/gnaw those trees down. -

Aaron MergedThe tutorial does not explain well enough how the water pump needs placed, and by the time I figured it out my beavers had almost all died of thirst, and there were not enough to work the pump.

Peter Bindels MergedMost of the tutorial speaks for itself (and it's great it just catches up and doesn't force you in some pattern!) - but going beyond the first colony, transferring beavers and materials to the second, setting up routes, that could do with a tutorial.

Kristoffer Henriksson MergedWhile playing my first game and following the tutorial I hit a drought while on the forester step and the vast majority of my beavers died before the forested completed. I now have 2 beavers left and am pretty sure my colony is hosed.
Consider disabling droughts until the tutorial is finished.
