Improved resource sorting and categories ad color coded icons (materials types)
The addition of more resources in Experimental Branch was a good idea, and a welcome addition to fill the game with more content!
(But) if you gather a lot of different resources the user interface may become a bit cluttered, making it difficult to find a given resource (planks, for example).
I suggest splitting the resources into "raw" and "enhanced" resource categories in the user interface, and sorting them by type.
In the image example I have also color-coded the resources to make it clear what pipeline they're part of.
Yellow = Food and food-related products.
Green = Wood-based industrial products.
Cool-Gray = Metal industrial products.
Red = Dynamite.
Light Blue = Water (District distr.)
I also suggest adding buttons to the menu of each storage building, to "auto-allow" only one of these categories (red category also allows paper). Currently there is only a button to auto-allow all or none. This would be an effective way to reserve a storage for a given type of resource.

Pulli MergedWhat I find difficult: The list gets very long over time and it is difficult to find items on the list. It is difficult to see what is missing. Keeping up production chains is a bit tedious.
I suggest splitting up the list into two: a list of building materials and a list of materials for food production. That would also make the total number at the top of the list much more useful. (Also having two different types of storage for food vs. building materials would be great ;)).
I also suggest showing 0 materials in the list instead of dropping the item from the list. That would make it easier to see which materials can be produced or imported from other districts. -

MathyellI really like the idea of categorizing the itmes! I want to add the idea of being able to limit one store to one item type or one category of items.
I'd like to add the idea of being able to sort the contents of a storehouse manually - for expample by filling degree.
-> alternativly you could implement some kind of smart sort, which sorts allowed items on top and within all allowed items those with the highes quantity above the others...
** localization ** for me it looks like the sorting happens before localizing the item names - it would really help any non-english players if sorting in the storehouses would by done by the localized name, not by the English name. -

Aequinoctis MergedBecause a given warehouse likely contains similar types of goods, it would be handy to organize the list with like types of materials together. Ideally, a single click could allow or disallow all items within each category, as well as making it easier to select within each category without scrolling.

sunyudaiPersonally I'd want to see:
- Construction materials, including logs
- Specialty goods (currently just books)
- Food Ingredients
- Ready to eat food
- Water (and other drinks if added later)
- Explosives -

J Merged* Move food ingredients to their own category;
* Move building materials to a submenu under the Logs count;
* Display each settlement's stockpile when their buildings are in the centre of the screen, not only when a building using it is selected;
* Display total adults / working adults / total jobs available, and make each job clickable so it will jump to and cycle through the buildings providing them. -

TimG MergedCurrently, most items sit under the 'Materials' section of the inventory UI and it becomes rather crowded, especially with all the new Golem parts.
I would suggest that either some new major categories can be created:
ex1) Golem (biofuel, catalyst, golem parts)
ex2) Bio matter (cattails, wheat, cattail flour, wheat flour, potato, spadderdock, maple syrup, pine resin,
Also, perhaps maybe move some items made from logs like planks, gears, paper underneath the logs section (or a new building materials section) -

ChadAgain MergedI'm really liking the improvements in the UI. But, one sore spot for me is how long the Materials curtain/shade gets. Maybe change that shade to something like 'Ingredients' with only unprocessed food items. Move wood materials under and with logs. Move metal or advanced materials to new shade.
Then maybe add a toggle for important item in that shade which will show in the top and when shade is drawn so we can easily keep an eye on what is most important resource at the time for each category.
And if water treatment is ever bought into the game, non-potable water could be in the water shade. ;-)
Keep up the great work! I love this game. -

Vickie Mergeditems or materials should be sorted by kinds such as food,construction materials and cooked food .The lists of items are too long to find the prefered matertials as soon as possible.All stuff are stuffed in one list everywhere which is unconvinient.

Baron MergedThe icons for each consumable product are unique, but they're also very detailed and SMALL. I love the consistent gold/brown aesthetic of the UI but adding some colored elements to the icons would make differentiation at a glance much easier.
Could also be helpful to better clarify the categorization of products. Like why is coffee not underneath the food category for the Iron Teeth, when it counts as a food type in their wellbeing? A disproportionate number of consumables are under one category, and in the late game it's a little overwhelming. -

Edward MergedThe top menu is "left-heavy", if that makes any sense. There are 2 effectively unused columns, having water and logs be at the top and always visible makes sense, but having all of the other liquids grouped under the water column and similarly all of: planks, gears, paper, and treated planks under the logs column. Expanding on that, since metal is also broken out as another resource category, maybe another whole column for scrap metal, metal blocks, and maybe robot parts(?)
