Flying unsupported power shaft - power bridge spanning several tiles
much like the bridges.
a power shaft that can be researched to be placed on the edge of land, with the rest hanging over water to be connected by another from the other side.
so that power can be run over small rivers (x2 water blocks max) to other parts of a district

Assaro MergedJust like you can build bridges over a canyon, i think you should add long power shafts to bridge canyons. Additionally, longer vertical power shafts would be very useful to connect everything to a large grid, even over large distances and heights.

Joe L.Yeah, this would be really helpful connecting between metal platforms too. Each end would need to be firmly footed, and then can output power from all 3 horizontal faces.

Ryan MergedSuggest allowing power supply to be connected to water wheel at same level and not require a platform underneath. if you mess up and build the water wheel in an awkward spot youre stuck building dams to hook up power to create planks to create elevated platforms. I could start over and not build the water wheel in a bad spot but even a cheaper alternative like pipe supports for 6 logs would be a saving grace. even if it cost 25 science that would still be more of an early game tip of the hat to dummies like myself.

Zam!I'm all for this feature. Maybe would limit span of power shaft bridges up to 2 for Folktails and up to 4 for IronTeeth (or 3/6) just to emphasize the industrial nature of IT and their technological advantage.

Zam! AdminIt's funny how I can leave a comment u logged and still have it tagged as mine anyway.
Once again - YES for "beaver power lines" :D -

Blakmoon MergedSometime, I have to produce energy somewhere and build a line of transmission to another place.
My problem is when the transmission have to cross a large canyon, I must either build plateforms to go down and other to go up on the other side or build high plateforms to go straight across the canyon.
And sometime it is impossible if there is non solid buildings or resources just below the path.
The idea is either to be able to build energy transmission on bridges or have specific bridges for energy. -

Redneck MergedKinda like the brides for the beavers but a bridge for the shaft.

Brittany Mergedmake them so the same way bridges are built. one can build a Power Shaft that sits on 1 block then extends put 1 to 6 further away. they are unlocked separately from the bridges and they can not be walked on.
I often build all my pathways over my fields using 6 long bridges but at the moment I can not send the power across the field. I all ways end up having to build a whole new power center on other side. If I could send power over my field like I do with my path ways just have a bridge that carries the power either to the side of my path bridge or under it would make it a lot easier to make stacking buildings and multi level pathways. -

Matthew MergedWhat about having a 2nd type of bridge which you could use to put power shafts on so you don't have to make as many platforms.

Jeff MergedAn extra long power shaft that can bridge a 1 (or 2?) block gap in ground support. I have 2 platforms really high up that are 1 block apart, I can't connect my batteries to the system.

PlasmaStruck MergedThey are more advanced power shafts that if friction mechanics are ever added could be more efficient over long distances, but their main use would be:
1: Having the ability to transfer power straight up or down.
2: Having bridge options/pieces similar to normal bridges to transfer power overhead without needing lots of pillars, it could potentially have an interaction with normal bridges to merge them when they are placed on top for both paths and power transport. -

Ruja MergedBasically, another set of bridges that besides providing paths, can also transfer power over gaps that would avoid building tall scaffoldings

Xelto MergedThere should be suspended power connectors, similar to suspension bridges, for the Ironteeth faction. Seriously, would any self-respecting Irontooth let an eight-block-deep, four-block-wide chasm get in the way of powering his buildings on the other side? Nay, I say, Nay!
