Preserve the Roller Coaster Tycoon building vibe
I absolutely love the current "clunkyness" of Timberborn's buildings.
The fact that you cannot mirror every building, the fact that elevated paths and stairs are a puzzle every time you want to build buildings on top of each other.
This game has this element as a completely unique feature compared to other modern city building games and I would hate to see it lost in "easy solutions" such as ladders, two way stairs, elevators, adjustable entrances to buildings etc.
Please keep the clunkyness! Make buildings even more tetris-piece-like and don't give in to the requests of cop-out solutions to the puzzle aspect of this amazing city building game! Spending several hours to find the best pathway option up your stack of warehouses to the farmhouse on top is a satisfying and unique joy.

Gin Fuyou AdminI don't fully agree regarding entrances, buildings are too uniform at the moment, if we talk about tetris, it feels like I'm getting same piece over and over, so at least mirroring would give it more variety. I'd also hope devs would also add more differently shaped buildings.

DelugeI agree that buildings are too uniform. Too many refinement buildings are simply 2x4 or 2x3 with an entrance on the top left. Make them an L shape or a Z shape, make the entrance come out the side. The paper mill is a fine example of breaking with the refinery norm. The large warehouse and the two Rowhouses are also excellent examples of things that makes the game interesting to design around. You're always presented with the question of "Oh, but if I move this building over one tile, can I fit in another warehouse here?", and before you know it, you've spent two hours placing down your third grill, and I love it.
What I'm against with mirroring is giving you several options for the same building. If I could mirror the large water tank, it would make it so much more forgiving to place and it wouldn't force as many creative solutions out of you when it just doesn't fit your current layout.
Restrictions fuels creativity. -

Zam! AdminI'm all for more elaborate "tetris mechanics" including buildings that are only partially solid and buildings with overhangs. Please add more of that!

DelugeZam! By partial solid buildings, do you mean where some parts of the building is solid and can be built on, but another part of the building is non-solid and needs to remain uncovered? I love that idea if that's what you mean! It does add the problem of the building in question having to be labeled as "partial-solid", which probably means you should be able to preview the layout of the building, before you research it. But that sounds like a solvable problem.
More odd restrictions, "clunkyness" and things to keep in mind when building! -

Mr Jerryas long as they make more flat buildings we can build ontop of i am happy with the game as it is.

BananalordAdding a 90 degree turned path would in my opinion be ok. But the rest I agree with. As long as you don't add umbrella stalls and you are able to raise the price of umbrellas as soon as it rains xD
