Hoist - constuction crane
Adding a treadwheel crane to aid in vertical construction and/or supply movement would be helpful for some maps. A simple pulley elevator would be a solid additional building.

Lootypants MergedThe beavers can only build 1 level up, but endless levels down.
That seems odd. I love the need/challange to build up, but the solution to large dams are "get up high and just build from the top."
Maybe the beavers need cranes to lower down to the level they build or flood the area and swim down to the build level.
May its as "simple" as a rope-rapelling animation where building from the top lover than 1 height. -

Sampsonthat would be really cool! you could even have an elevator that used power in a way like the gravity battery, but inverted to consuming more power. if you attached paths on the sides, you could make something that travels up even the tallest cliffs!

Just a guy MergedMaybe instead just building the paths to every buildsite players can unlock cranes,
They would be buildings that can build and/or provide materials to anything in range (below them) without requiring a path.
Then we have this progression:
Early game - paths everywhere. Low verticality.
Midgame - wooden cranes, make it easier to construct vertical structures. They provide the infinite range to build down.
Lategame - steeel cranes, with long range make grand construction a breeze
There is some tedium related with building the paths to every element that needs to be built.
Even with the infinite building range in the bottom direction.
Removal of tedium would be integrated into the game. And would make sense. Early everything is difficult. You have to be scrappy.
Late game, focus on sweeping projects, now easier with cranes, without the fiddling with exact paths.
With the new teardown mechanic player can dissassemble them after finishing the construction and reclaim some resources. -

WhiteRoo MergedCurrently, you can build a bridge and then use it to build under it. Most often this is used with dinamite to dig large water tanks. I think using bridges for this is counter-intuitive, but the functionality is needed, so I would like to suggest to disable this functionality on bridges, but add a Crane that works the same way, that also allows the removal of trees and vegetation under it.

Lazy builder Mergedfor those large scale projects like major dams used to shift mass amounts of water or seal off areas. i just was playing and was diverting a giant area but needing to make so many platforms due to height restrictions in order to complete the project. since gravity batteries have been invented, it wouldnt be difficult for the beavers to make pulleys (folktails) and cranes (ironteeth) that would slowly put together such large scale projects with less need for constant platform construction. ex: when given enough materials to make one building such as a levee, a builder beaver will build it then the crane/pulley system will "place" the block into its proper place. to balance it is slow at it and only one at a time. of course this works best for landscaping such as dams, levees, and floodgates, however it could also be useful as a backup battery using its counterweights for emergency power if needed. of course this means it will need power but by that point power is just another matter.
