Steam not Closing Game (steam shows game as running after exit)

When I exit the game, Steam does not recognize Timberborn has closed down. In order to open Timberborn again I need to close Steam completely, restart it, then start Timberborn. Has happed every time I exit to desktop. Thanks

Menu Screen locks on screen when exiting game. Only way to remove is with task manager. Occurs when launched from Steam hot bar short cut (right click and launch). Does not occur when game is launched from inside Steam library.

when you exit the game, steam still thinks that the game is running, steam has a stop button but this button does nothing, to launch the game again you must right click the steam systray icon and click exit then reopen steam, this greatly affects the amount of time it says you played the game... for instance steam has several times thought that the game was still open overnight on my system. while I do not want a refund this would be an unfair practice to those that do since they only get 2 hours of play time to decide if they want a refund and they could have played for 5 minutes but the timer never stops..... either way its very annoying that I have to completely exit steam and reopen it to play again.. please fix right away!

I am experiencing the same bug. It is quite irritating because my search for a related Backgroundprocess that might still be running turned up nothing that would be discernable to me. No Unity-Tasks, only Steam-Tasks.

Same. Timberborn doesn't close completely, or at least Steam is detecting some remnant of Timberborn. I can't find Timberborn in the Task Manager. Clicking "Stop" in Steam for Timberborn doesn't stop the game. Only shutting down Steam seems to work at all, and that's after a few moments of Steam working on it.

when I exit Timberborn, it seems to exit cleanly, however, it still show as running in Steam. I have to kill Steam and relaunch to get it to show as "not" running. If I hit STOP within Steam, at first I thought it was doing nothing, but I noticed tonight that it is actually attempting to close any Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that are open. If none are open, then it does nothing that I can see.

If I exit the game, and then start it up again without reboot/logoff, Steam gives me an error that Timberborn app is still running. However long I wait, it seems that I have to stop Steam, which then also won't exit until Timberborn has stopped. This seems to be the only way to make it stop running.

I think it is to do with whether or not you have clicked the button (in game) to leave feedback. I don't the game closes clenly. If I do, then that's when this issue occurs (for me at least).

For some odd reason steam always thinks timberborn is running, even after a fresh boot. When even I want to play the game I have to ctrl alt del and force steam to stop then re-launch steam. Once I quit the game, steam continues to say timberborn is running and won't let me boot it up again until I ctrl alt del again. I've had the odd game do this after quitting, but I've never seen this sort of behavior when I first launch steam from a fresh boot.

I'm running windows 10 on a fairly new computer. I'm not sure what logs or things I can provide.

Steam states game still running even though task manager doesn't have it listed. Have to quit steam and tell it to end without waiting for Timber born to close before i can go back in. ( really enjoying game.)

I hope this bug was not posted before (I could not find it):

If I press "report bug" in game or the "give feedback" in game when I want to exit to the desktop and then later exit the game, the game is ends as usual (and it is not showing in the task manager anymore either), but steam still shows the game as "running" (see picture) and pressing the blue "stop" button in steam doesn't change anything.

This happens every time I press "report bug" or "give feedback" in game.

I closed down the game. But it is still showing as running in Steam. I cannot launch another instance of it.

I checked Task Manager and there was no Timberborn.exe running. Why is Steam showing it as still running? It stopping me from lauching other games.

Or is this a feature and not a bug? Timberborn is the only game I am allowed to play? All part of the beaver master plan I see...

same for me... i see in this topic the issue is here since 6 months.... are the dev still working on the game ??

cyrianox, the new update was just released few days ago, what regarding this issue - I never seen if it was to be confirmed to be the game's problem, or something devs can fix (e.g. Unity problem), since it does happen occasionally with other games too.

I get this one all the time: "When the game exits, the steam display stops, but it cannot stop after clicking" The only way I get it to exit is to restart steam.
Haven't checked the experimental build though.
