I want more variations in the shape of the roof
Current roof types cannot handle irregular shapes.
Therefore, we would like to have a half-shaped or L-shaped roof that is the current 2x2 roof.
Beaver you will end up in to see the building that does not change.
We are currently using non-roof decoration items such as shrubs, windmills or stairs to give the building its own personality.

TerrRawrSaur MergedMono pitch roofs in multiple sizes to fill in gaps like on the large warehouse that has two 1x3 edges.

Ben Lamothe MergedMaybe they could code it so that regular roofs just bend to the wall next to them without adding 6 new roof types

:)Right now there is no suitable roof for the 3x3 barracks. Even the biggest roofs are only 3x2 which leaves a 3 tile strip.

Gin Fuyou Admin> Right now there is no suitable roof for the 3x3 barracks.
Exactly! You can add a line of 2x1 platforms to make a double roof, but rows of platforms themselves look not very appealing.
Also allowing parts of roof to "overhang" - be placed without full support like bridges - would help with that and other cases -

LuckyAsHellI scrolled just for this suggestion. cause I want other variants like a 1x2 already exist but I want a 1x2 thats faces the longer side instead of the short side.

BobingaboutWas about to start my own because I couldn't find this one (doesn't seem to show up when you search for "roof")
in summery, my suggestion is to add the following:
a 3x3 roof (Due to the number of 3x3 flat roof buildings, especially if you're playing as Iron Teeth)
a 1x1 slope roof, similar to one tile of the current 2x2
a 1x1 roof corner piece. -

PandaAs suggested in the Discord, making roof tiles that work similar to fences and stairs would require less spots in the decorations tab while providing much more variation. We tallied it up roughly, and from one 1x1 half gabled roof you can create 24 different positions, depending on where it connects to its neighboring roof part. If we had a corner piece, wedge (half gable) and full gable, the roofing would look good in almost every scenario.

JohnyDLYou don't actually need more types of roof piece you/we could make the vast majority of rooves with a hand full of peices... I'd take all the 1x1 studs off these 3 lego pieces 3040, 3046 and half-3048 and you then get
1x1 slope (smooth stair 3040)
1x1 corner (intersecting smooth stairs at 90 degrees concave 3046)
1x1 corner (intersecting smooth stairs at 90 degrees convex half-3048)
Larger versions would make things easier/faster to place, but actually, I don't think we strictly need more roof pieces/configurations we need fewer more thoughtful roof pieces, texture merging where appropriate and blueprinting, these 3 plus the current 1x1 and platforms would make any/all possible roof configurations. Since rooves are cosmetic, larger rooves with fewer materials is a bonus, not a necessity. -

RanWithAPlan Mergedit would be solid with one building spot in the middle and would come in two variations: a gable roof and a hip roof. There would also need to be a hip roof variation for the 1x1 roof.

octothorp MergedOnce I get to the point where your beaver colony is ticking along nicely and I just want to make it look as pretty as possible, the roof options feel a little basic. A gable-and-valley (allowing you to intersect two roof lines) would be really nice. While there are a lot of options you could use, I think simply a 1*1, 1*2, a 2*2 intersection would be all you need. 'T' and 'L' variants of these intersections would create a complete set, but I can appreciate that you might not want too many options.
A sloped roof would be another good addition (basically a quarter of a 2*2 roof). It would also make the 3*2 roof unnecessary since the same effect could be completed with slopes and platforms.
Finials (especially faction-specific) would also be a great roof detail, although I have a harder time seeing how to make that work within the existing roof system. -

octothorp MergedIn addition to the single-gable architecture that the current roof approach allows, some gable-and-valley roofs would really extend the architectural possibilities. At a basic level, adding 3 additional roof options - a 1*1, 1*2, and 2*2 'X'-shaped gable-and-valley roof would really add a lot. 'T' and 'L' variants of these would also be nice but would require an additional 7 options in total.
Sloped roofs (not shown in the diagram, but a simple quarter of a 2x2 roof) would also be really handy. -

M MergedSeems like we have a couple of 3x3 buildings, but no 3x3 roofs. I would love a 3x3 roof or possibly even dome. I would also love a 3x1 roof tile. I think in general the roofing could look more coherent by possibly adding intersecting pieces or have the game convert touching roof pieces into one.
It would also be nice to have more building pieces like arches, street lights, tree planters, fountains, fences that sit between tiles, and maybe more special monuments like a capitol building, an iconic bridge, a Beaver "Arc de Triomphe," etc to make our awesome beaver cities more aesthetically pleasing and each district more distinct!
Side note: Please also allow us to build over more things like large storage and it would also be nice if double-wide raised paths didn't have that awkward square handrail in the middle. -

Bill Mergeda 1x1 aesthetic roof that makes a 90 degree turn. imagine u are roofing a levee, you roof the front and the sides, and the corners at which the sides meet won't complete the look you were attempting to accomplish with the roofs.

John W BjerkRather than more roof types, I’d like to see roof pieces that would intelligently “merge” with adjacent roof blocks. To make the kind of roofs you see on real buildings.

MikailIt would be great if the 1 tile wide roof used similar tech as the fence / hedge - to at least give a way to connect multiple roofs with a corner piece.

Dyllon (O_D_I_N) S.B.B. MergedSmall suggestion for decorations tab, I wouldn't mind 1x1, 2x2 90 degree rooftops and 3x3 90 degree with flat central row to help make more oddly shaped communities look nice. not a major thing but have wanted it for a while.
(Possibly some maps that are lowland with naturally dirty water and slower movement through the map [as it would be muddy]. or some winter maps that freeze over the water.
lastly, wouldn't mind more path types, maybe planked paths that increase speed by a small % or if lowlands style maps ever get developed, wouldn't mind wells as a unique building at some point that naturally can collect clean water from fertile or polluted ground, beaver graveyards would add culture to a species. -
