Allow pathing diagonally on paths
See screenshot (red line is proposed new path route). Both paths as marked by the green lines take the same amount of time due to the game's pathing mechanics, but if they were allowed to "cut the corners" on the 1x1 zig-zag's at least, it'd allow for faster traveling. It can still count for the same number of tiles for determining district distance.
May be good, too, if cosmetically they looked like a diagonal path and were smoothed out.

Jcheungfor building, they actually treat diagonals as a distance of one... which is why you see rectangles for things like farms and the like....

ChristianIf this is ever implemented, then please also change the visual appearance when paths are placed directly next to each other. I want to be able to build plazas, bigger roads etc. I will attach a photoshopped picture of what I desire. :D

QodvuxI don't think actual diagonal paths should be possible (you might as well start placing buildings diagonally then). But it is very limiting to have the path tool only allow straight lines, making you micro-paint those zigzags. The tool should instead simply lay a zigzag to the destination when dragging. Bonus points if it could find paths around obstructions, but at least allowing zigzags on free terrain and stopping at any obstruction would be a big improvement already.
If the current "only straight lines" behavior should be preserved as the default, at least allow to hold a modifier key while dragging to allow diagonals/zigzags. (I personally would prefer to hold a modifier to limit to straight lines, but either would work.)
