[Bug] All my water pumps suddenly stopped pumping - river is full - not dry season

Maybe I went a bit overboard, but all my 14 pumps suddenly .. stopped. Without a reason. I have enough beavers to work them, plenty of water storage, and water in the river. I do have irrigation towers but the pumps just don't pump. no animation. 0 productivity. its like they are stuck in 'dry season mode' but the river is full; and was kept rather full with dams during the dry season.

This was on windows, I started the game on a Mac and copied the save json files over a network share. it worked until right after the dry season -- although it did took me a while to notice it.

I can share a save file if that helps

Are you sure you just didn't fill up all water storages?

I've just gotten this same problem. Storage is not full. River is running. Not a drought season. When I reload save they appear to work until I click any of them and then they all stop pumping.

Aaron L., does the problem persist even if you close and restart the game? If so, please submit a bug report, containing more info as described here: https://mechanistry.com/bug - logs or save file may have some hint why it happens for you.

For me the animation continues but they stop producing water and production goes into negatives and continues to go down until the game is reloaded. When I checked, production was -1500%

Mike, that certainly sounds like a bug, please send a full report as described just above.

Any update on this, just had the bug hit me - 3 pumps, watching the water reserves drop to 0 as beavers sit outside the pump numbly not pumping from the bountiful river their pumps are built on.

I noticed this happened after I built a dam crossing the river lower down (early game, so no floodgate yet). Could the dam be causing the pumps to stop?

((Edit)) think i found the problem! I had toads going underneath the pumps! So the pumps weren't going because there was an construction. Potential patch for later, roads cannot/should not be able to be build under the pumps?

I've just had the same bug - river is full of water, pump is turned on and has a beaver working there, plenty of empty water storage, but the productivity of the pump dropped to 0%. I tried pausing every other workplace but the beavers are just running around complaining of thirst next to a river full of water and a water pump, the little idiots. 18th March 2024
