Water Flow issues
I have been playing on the Waterfall map and build tier 3 floodgates, but now its causing some pulsing issues with the water flowing over the sides during the wet season. When the dry season comes its leaves the water level half way down the flood gates

DougAlso having this same issue. No surging in flow until after I installed my 2nd floodgate. Now the water physics are coursing consistently interrupting my town every 5-ish seconds. No doubt something to do with the water collision physics.

Tommy BrownThere is also a problem in the Island map - with 2 small dams I totally stopped the water flowing to about a quarter of the map by accident.

CharroldPlaying the latest release with the iron teeth on the recommended map and noticing a very consistent "pulse" of the water flow. Played with folktales on the same map with no issues. Have tried many settings/combinations for dams/floodgates of differing levels but it is impossible to get consistent flow. The issue does not happen all the time, so it is also difficult to reproduce. Causes minor flooding, and then ridiculously fast flow instead of even flow (I have consistent flow area throughout so it is not a bottleneck issue - even with just floodgates, all open, I can see the issue happen)

JehannesThe water stagnates causing minor flooding then flows out ridiculously quickly because of the height and then stagnates again, it only happens with floodgates (set to higher than 0). i think it may be caused by the physics when the floodgate level is changed

Jcheung Admindams/floodgates are supposed to handle 2.2cm/s.
the problems that usually happen are-
too many: water oscillations and therefore flooding
too few: can't handle the flow and backs up, then overtops
drop less than 1: allows three times the water it's supposed to
on plains, use 4 per span. -

PalenvalI have had pulsing on the "Waterfalls" map with the Iron Teeth. I am on Cycle 35 and I am consistently having the water flow over my floodgate a little, then surge over a lot and create a flood, drop below the level to overtop my floodgates, and then the cycle repeats about 1 to 2 times per in game day. I have triple floodgates along the main course of the river and the pulsing has become worse as I have added more water wheels. I have the floodgates set to 2.5 height and they worked great for the first 33 or 34 cycles. The attached image shows the floodgates across where the waterfalls and the area in the foreground is where the flooding happens. Just so it is understood, in previous cycles, you would get an initial push of water when the water returned, but this is not just the first day. Also, the far left side of the image is water on land the same level as the tree farm. I didn't catch it during the pulse, but it floods from the mangroves to the left with each pulse.
