Forced warehouse clearing - discard resources, delete materials, dispose food from storage
The game has some problem with clearing warehouses from unnecessary resources in them, for example, when a new warehouse is being built, and all other warehouses are full, then the beavers instantly begin to pull all surplus resources to the new warehouse, thereby littering the usable space. Yes, the game provides for the function of cleaning warehouses, but to work in such a situation, it needs free warehouses where these unnecessary resources can be transferred for which they will have to be built first, but that's okay, the problem is that these warehouses will be unplanned and sooner in total, they will be immediately demolished after the transfer of resources. Therefore, I propose to add a button to destroy resources in warehouses to force their cleaning, which will take less time and effort to sort out unnecessary resources.

Mark Brown MergedThe ability to delete or throw away food and materials out of warehouses.
I had 3,000 berries clogging up my storage and I had to build new storage and delete the old one to get rid of them. -

Zam!Destroying/dumping of resources should help in a LOT of situations. I'm all for this idea.

FuryoftheStarsI’d rather the warehouses, when finished being built, are instead initially disallowing all resources, then you have to manually enable the ones you want. This would prevent this situation in the first place.
Alternatively, or in addition to, I’d like a warehouse that’s set to be emptied to have priority over producers, so it’ll get emptied faster.
Me, personally, I’m never ok with random destroying of resources, even if they are infinite. -

peter Mergedi had 10k berries, no one eat them because i had all other stuff to eat, had to stop all food production to reduce the amount of berries.

Neffster MergedAt times I accidently collect and store a ton of a resource I don't mean to taking up all my resource space. Please give me the ability to throw away resources that I don't want to keep without deleting the warehouse and losing everything inside

Nick Thomas MergedMy third settlement started dying rapidly as the drop-off was full of other random stuff and not water / food - really didn't notice it and now I've set limits, but I think it would be a handy mechanic to be able to dump stuff that's in stock.
As it is, I just demolished and rebuilt the drop-off point, but I had about 90 metal blocks in there I woudln't have minded keeping =/ -

MaroonDog MergedAdd some sort of building that can be selected as a target for items, like a warehouse, so that actual warehouses can get rid of things like berries or other early-game resources for other things.

HC MergedAllow destroy resources and a quick way to let storage only store food.
In late game, materials gradually compete out the food in the storage. I need a quick way to clear them out to make room for food -

TTJI would also like to see a solution for insane amounts of goods in stock. Some ideas to deal with this problem:
- Hard limits for a single ressource or limits that a player can set (obvious, but not lore-friendly)
- Add some natural decay of ressources, especially food ressources. An easy implementation could be that there is 0% decay per day for district-wide stocks <500, 1% decay above 500, 2% decay above 1000, 4% above 2000 and so on. To be on the safe side, it could also be based on the coefficient stock devided by population size.
- Add an "altar of sacrifice" building which allows the player to burn ressources for a district-wide spritual bonus (e.g. +20% hauler speed). The player can select a single ressource (maybe limited to food ressources) which is then burnt as fast as haulers can deliver it. The building should switch itself off after one day or allow setting limits, so that accidentially disposing the full stock is prevented. -

Cameeb MergedMy civilization only has mechanical bevers however I have 50,000 food on hand. Would love a way to get rid of them such as a furnace or other means.

Alfred MergedDuring lean times, I stock piled a bunch of berries. Now that drought is over, I have 190 berries sitting in storage with room for 10 carrots. "Empty storage" doesn't seem to do anything. Am I missing a building for recycling materials?

Xode_00 MergedIf you forget to set your warehouse limits beavers often swarm your new warehouse before you can stop them. You can use the empty warehouse option but this can be undesirable if the beavers that swarmed the new warehouse have no where to put the items they filled it with.
This has more than once caused me to delete my new warehouse and start over because it takes far too long to actually empty.
It would be nice to have a button to click to "Destroy these items" with a confirm button that will just destroy that particular item in a warehouse similar to the way the destroy plants tool works, they are just gone once a beaver does it. This would allow you to force a warehouse to empty even if there is no where to put the extra items in the warehouse. -

Slawwoj MergedI'd love to be able to delete resources from distribution post, or drop-off point. I know you can set the limit, but sometimes you have to build one building with just 20 paper for example, yet you are left with 100 of them because you forgot about it and you have full storage in other district so you can't send it back. It snowballs after a while and you have to build something specially to get rid of unwanted resources. It would really help if you could just throw them away with button and it would empty all gathered resources in building you select into one pile in placement you will select.

QtheConqueror MergedOccasionally, I have wanted to change what resource is stored in a building. However, the building is not being emptied due to other storages being full and the resource not being used.
It would be nice to have the ability of deleting all resources stored in storage building. Similar to how you can delete rubble, losing the resources in the process.
This can already be accomplished in a tedious roundabout method, by demolishing the structure and rebuilding it. This can be a hassle if the building is a base for other structures.
A dedicated button to quickly clear the resources would be nice quality of life addition.
The button could either fully delete the resources or dump them on the ground as rubble. -

I have some warehouses full and wanted to throw away a bir of stuff not to let beavers unemployed -
