Immediate crash on game startup from Steam
I was running the game fine for weeks, then I started getting crashes on game startup from the Steam icon in Windows Taskbar. On clicking "Timberborn" on the steam menu the game goes into a black screen with the little spinning blue icon. This is normal for startup on my PC but it normally lasts a few seconds and then you get the opening splash screen with the beavers and a button to click.
The new behavior is that the black screen with blue loading icon now persists. If I leave it to load awhile, 5 minutes, the game does not load. I cannot do anything with the mouse at this time. I can hotkey into Task Manager but cannot interact with Task Manager to kill the process. I can Alt+Tab to get to the desktop, but cannot interact with Windows. The loading icon persists and my mouse clicks do nothing, so I cannot restart Windows from the Desktop. The only solution is to hardware kill the PC with the power button, then restart with same, which gets me back to the Desktop.

ChristianI have the same problem from time to time - seems to be the unity crash handler (or similar name) on my end. If you use the tab key, the arrow keys, the right click key and the return key, you can interact with the task manager and stop the timberborn process, thus no need for restarting pc. Hope that helps...
