Freezing and eventually crash

Freezes for around 30-40 seconds every 5-10 minutes. Only goes to 'not responding' if I click, otherwise it just doesn't do anything. At first I thought it was the autosave so I turned that off, and while I think it reduced the duration, it still does it for maybe 20-30 seconds just as frequently. Then it crashed... I'm playing on a laptop so know my processor is limited, however wouldn't expect that scale of problem from this sort of game

I have Intel Core i5 if that's important

I'd also love an option to select all of a building type to pause (e.g. water pumps during droughts)
