pause building operation while it's under constraction, pre-pause structures
sometimes I want to build something like housing but I don't want them to use it quite yet. a "pause on complete" would be helpful.

Jcheung Adminin the meantime, if it's an option, you can simply break the path in such a way that builders can get to them but not be linked to the district.
i like the idea though, would save me having to plan for that. -

NemoAdditionally, it would be very helpful for laying out buildings if we could have an option to place buildings in an already paused state. That way you could place down several buildings, check to see if they line up how you want, then unpause them so the beavers can actually start delivering materials without having to pause.

Financial_Foodie MergedWould be nice to be able to start constructing something, such as housing, but have it paused for use once finished. That way it's ready for future use when needed to be unpaused but construction can continue instead of also being paused.

Drache MergedThe plan building priority is very simple. buildings with this priority will not be built. this can be useful if you want to plan out your mega dam for example without your entire supply of logs vanishing. It would also be a good idea if you could place buildings you have not yet researched as a plan but to change the priority to something that will be built you will need to research it. that way you can plan out the entire game on day 1

Peter34 MergedCurrently when a Building is "blueprinted" or under construction, the one "pause" button there is pauses construction.
I want separate click for "pause construction" and "pause Building". As it is now, the "pause" button (or pressing the P key) does one thing for a Building blueprinted or in the process of being constructed and a different thing once a Buildin has been constructed.
This will allow better planning, including for industrial areas where you might want to plonk down Buildings you'll need later but that you want to be actually contructed so they'll pass Power through.
Look at another early access game from 2022 or so, Captain of Industry, which has this functionality. -

DZ MergedI would love for an option to allow less micro to take place for each building I place. The means I would like are to automatically assign 0 workers to a building project when finished or the option to allow it to finish constructing but automatically enter pause mode. So far there is only the option to either set the worker limit to 1 minimum or keep an ever watchful eye on projects finishing and then to quickly select this building and pause it there. This would be useful especially for buildings that rely on multiple structures to finish (e.g. Lumber mill + water wheel/manned power wheel, a more advanced project would be a Folktail Observatory + 4 manned power wheels) as it is slightly annoying to have to do this for every single building or project I make due to a beaver from the lowest worker priority building chain being assigned to it and doing zero work as it needs the second building to actually start performing work.
