Lanterns do not really "shine", lamps don't give a light source
Hi,
i am enjoying the current v5 beta and i've built a couple of the newly introduced lanterns in my new town.
Nice to have such thing, but in fact, they kinda don't work. yes, they turn "on" at night, by turning yellow. but they do not emmit any kind of light. (same for Brazier)
I don't know if you really have the option to make it work, but in comparison to the old fire place an the newly introduced exercise plaza, where there is some sort of radiated light, those two new buildings are pretty pale and hard to even recognize as light source.
love your game though ^^

Gin Fuyou AdminYes, it's intended, regrettably there is engine issues with lighting so light sources in game are cut to minimum and some still have bugs. Hopefully it will be resolved eventually and we'll see the light.

QuaxI guessed someting like that, as the currently existing illumination (camp fire) only illuminates "itself" and do not interact with other assets of the game. My vote and hope that the lanterns will in the end really illuminate.

tweek MergedI have already seen that we had proposed improving the brightness of the lamps.

if you have already read me, you must have understood that I go far (perhaps, sometimes too far! ^^)
I therefore wonder if it would be possible not to make them clearer, but to actually adjust them yourself?? ...
with a notch, increased, or decreased for each type of lamp. This would allow us to showcase our beautiful works! and illuminate me a little, the darker corners...
we could make dark alleys! bright neighborhoods, and small towns just lit up!
that would make everything even more customizable..
and would give a more real touch to everything. -

SSmithi concur, hopefully in the future all lighting will have an area effect. That would be awesome to see the contrast between bot buildings and living beaver. If not that granular with the lighting, than the bigger pieces like the lanterns, braziers, fire monument, etc would be truly nice to look at as the beaver scamper off to bed.
Best of luck with these challenges. Maybe someday.
