Map Maker - Play-testing mode, placing test dams, simulation timer, resource helper
This is a compilation topic for suggestions intended to help map makers test and verify viability of their maps.
Including:
- Simplified play-test mod to quickly check how map plays out
- Placing dams and other structures in map maker to quickly see if water simulation gives intended result
- Game time tracker so you can see how many days it takes for water to dry or plants to die during season simulation
- Indicator of number of resources (logs and metal) on selected area, total sources strength

Erin MergedTesting out mid and late game map design is difficult without a way to place dams in the map editor. Currently, the only way for a map maker to truly test out their water design (storage and flow) is to actually play the game, requiring a play through of the early game every time they want to test out mid-late game design (e.i. what would happen if they made a huge dam in X location that spills over and opens up a new section of the map).

MrDeaf MergedOther things that, I think, would improve quality of life for the map editor.
Previewing the entire possible area coverage of the starting point.
Larger brush sizes. 20 would be nice, especially for round brush.
Mouse wheel scroll to change brush sizes and shift+mouse wheel to change brush height.
Faster speed than 2x, so I don't have to wait around to see how water flows on larger maps.
Dry season testing.
Half-height barrier. A natural dam block, for when you don't want a full height barrier block.
Easier to edit water source block power. -

Yaya Kagecosa MergedIn the map creator gamemod, it is possible to activate the water to check that its operation corresponds to our wishes. It would be interesting to have the possibility of carrying out an AI simulation to ensure that the map is playable before opening it to the public.
Playing the map we have just created is nice to check these details but it is too long for competitions. -
