1.0 new water sparkles are a disability issue for people w/epilepsy or neurological issues :(
I have MS (multiple sclerosis) and eyes affected by it. The sparkles all over the water and the frequency of the brilliant flashes are causing me to be nauseous and dizzy. This is a major issue, and if I can add, a danger to people by possibly provoking epileptic seizures. It's a great sadness to me that I am squinting and trying not to see it so I can play 1.0. I'm not sure if I will be able to. *cries* Note: I just hid the water to continue, but it looks so much less 'pretty' to do that.

QodvuxI am also affected by this. I would greatly appreciate an option to turn down the frequency and intensity of this effect.
Additionally, while the sparkling is helpful in visualizing water flow, still water looks weird and overdone compared to 0.7, where it only had the more subtle and more appropriate "surface wind" effect. In reality sparkles are caused by height differences in the water, while a calm or still body of water should have minimal or no sparkling. So maybe this could also be tuned to water flow so as to be less intense with slow-moving or still water surfaces. -

ElizabethI thank you Gin for looking at my issue. I hid the water. Hiding worked best. But, I ask you.. the sparkles make the water look weird in the first place. It's completely unnatural! I, on the other hand, have played this game for years, plus, I have a very natural human need shared by many others. Why should I have to lose the formerly-beautiful water setting? I never had any issues with it before! I received so much JOY from watching your water flow! Why do I have to change? CHANGE IT BACK! It was just fine before, and gorgeous! This was a terrible change to the program. Making ME be the one who changes is not at all a just outcome of this issue. It penalizes me for being disabled. The world has gone crazy. Disabled people all over the place are being 'punished' for existing. I never believed you guys would do that to people like myself. This entire game was built on compassion and erasing human atrocities. This is not in line with your raison d'etre.

Thanks, you are right, the "Low" setting disables the sparkle effect.

I sympathize, but take a look at the "Low" setting instead of hiding the water. With that the water really just looks like it used to before 1.0, no flashes or sparkles whatsoever.
