Alert on Population Starvation
New player here, just had my entire population die and I didn't even know I had a food issue. I sat here for a whole day(game-time) waiting for work to start... As a player, I want some type of feedback besides small text messages to let me know I have a major issue like starvation. If all population is dead, SOMETHING should happen instead of the game continuing along with the merry music.

VixnilAgree, I went from my food gathering/farming being a problem over filling storage to starving after hitting some population size that slowly started to drain my food reserves without me noticing. Maybe can there be an indicator or stats screen to show overall average food requirement/per day versus average food gathered/farmed? I can just take more care in keeping track of that myself for now, but it will just be a tedium to need to count food usage manually to make sure I am not slowly losing food. Especially since there is not much a player can do by the time the town is already starving, crops take a while to grow, a new farm house takes a bit to build up, and if the land has been cleared of berries to make room for utility buildings and farms already there is not a quick fix to the problem.

Vinny P MergedPer title; add an alert that rings off when 40-60% of a district's beavers are hungry.
1
Currently, the map is HUGE and players have to constantly move around checking in on things.
Use a popup alert such as "The beavers of district 1 are going hungry!" or "The beavers of district 2 are thirsty!"
This can probably also be calculated by checking how much food is in stock; if there's not enough in the district's inventory to feed the population for two days, send that alert. Same for water.
This should give players some warning when getting distracted designing a tower only to go back to find that district 4 has been completely wiped out by a floodate left too high. -

Jcheung Mergedit would be nice if that warning only popped up when beavers were actually about to die of thirst or hunger

ChromeBeaver Mergeda pop-up (maybe I missed it) but all my beavers died and I was waiting for them to all get-up and start the day. was a long wait.
maybe a pop-up when the first one dies to alert you of something?
this was my first game so I may have missed something.
.
enjoying it a lot so far. thank you. -

Benjamin Twistagree.
a couple of times when i first started playing the water pump was randomly unoccupied after a while (perhaps the original beaver died of old age and he wasnt auto-replaced)
i was doing something away from my main base and didnt see all the thirst icons so i just came back to my base and everybody had died 🤦♂️
anyway since then i always have redundancy of my critical systems AND i always make sure there is some unemployment in my camps so that beavers dying of old age are garanteed to be replaced -

SquishyyyI was going to give this in feedback too. I knew someone else would be bothered by it, but the game needs a failure state. I have had colonies with 4 children after a drought and ones where I had 0 beavers and the game just...continues. It's a bit jarring.

Hawkeightthere's a little number at the top left corner I've found that if you click on it tells you things like how many are fed or how many have nutrients etc. but I agree it would be nice for a little bit more warning, or at least make the well-being number thingy more obvious (add it into the tutorial for example)

Seriously UnseriousDefinitely needed.
I'd like to see an alert like another suggested above when there's less then 2 days food/water, so you know about an incoming problem while it's at least still possible to do something about it.
Another, more urgent warning when more then a certain % are starving/dehydrated, and yet another when the first dies of starvation/dehydration.
This gives us multiple chances to find out about the problem, or track it's growing severity as we scramble to fix the problem. -

KeepDistance MergedIt's easy to miss the floating icon when they're running around, particularly if you have multiple districts. A persistent warning as already exists for unpowered buildings would be perfect.

Reth MergedSometimes when handling my three districts, I couldn't keep a eye on all my beavers and the food/water supply and if the level is high enough for them to keep pumping water, so I think it would be great to add this in the game

Andrew ModigI agree wholeheartedly, I can't plan out major projects while keeping an eye on the population without pausing the game, and I can't recall any other game just casually allowing your population to die without warning you well in advance...

Firehound MergedWe have the "alert menu" for buildings without power, materials or workers... Can we please get one for when beavers are hungry/thirsty? or when a certain percentage of beavers are? or food/water supplies in a district are low? That way, if you have a supply chain issue, you have more warning than a bunch of death notices!

Genaro MergedIt's very frustrating when you are focused in a task and suddenly you get noticed that half of your beavers had died of thirst because you forgot you turned off the water pump. Would be very helpfull an indicator with a sound alarm that informs you that some beavers are about to die.

Nere MergedI pause beavers in food production in some off-district if they have like +500 food and the next thing i notice(few days later) they are all dead of starvation. All I ask is a simple SOUND warning if beavers are going to die of starvation or thirst. Or some kind of reminder that I have paused essential building.

Mark TaylorAlerts should be when food runs low, dependent upon current district pop (so like when there is only two days of food left, etc.) Same for water. I've lost entire districts when I was fiddling elsewhere. However, once you get far enough into the game, you can setup 'levels' of everything to be traded between districts, so that if any one district gets low on anything, surrounding ones will supply it. It requires a LOT of infrastructure, though.

NoctiferAgreed - lost an entire colony and not only did I not know anything was wrong, I still don't know why they died. There should be stronger visual alerts as a colony begins to go into decline (not audio-only, I turn that off so I can watch youtube as I play), in time to be able to do something about it. And a record as to why beavers died to so I can troubleshoot after.

PouffyPlaceboeven a simple little indicator like colour coding the notifications in the bottom left corner to show RED for deaths from unnatural causes.

mateuszwater cannot dry 100% there must be at least a state in which it is not possible to collect it but it does not cause the vegetation to wither, I have dams everywhere and on the last day of drought everyone dies from lack of food
when I already have two villages, it notoriously switches to the general view, which does not show the range, how far beavers can walk along the paths, and instead of the states of a specific village, they are summed up from all -

Gin Fuyou Admin> there must be at least a state in which it is not possible to collect it but it does not cause the vegetation to wither
Why? That's part of gameplay to avoid it.
> it notoriously switches to the general view
What does? I'm having hard time with this complaint -

TLC_ULTRAThis should be extended to include anything that is likely to kill beavers
