More Crops and Food Variety
The idea is simple: add far more crops - such as maize, sweetcorn, cabbage, rice, quinoa, teff, beets, etc. - , and make it so that beavers become happier with more varied diets. There could even be luxury crops - such as sugar and hot peppers - that are highly inefficient as food sources, but provide enormous boosts to happiness.

I don't think bumping stats more and more is right choice, specifically if we get modding and people start adding all kinds of food they can think of. -

Tom MergedRice is a placeholder here, but a crop like rice or cranberries that need to be flooded at some point in its growth cycle could be interesting as a way to encourage having areas that are designed to vary from wet to dry
