  Since buildings with a flat top like warehouses are able to carry power to adjacent buildings, it would be great to have a power connection that goes at a 90 degree angle from the ground so that you could connect a building that was above and to the side by 1 square. There could also be a type of platform with a power tap that let's you pull/add power from/to a building on top of it.

  personally speaking, i'd rather it be new structures leaving the existing one.
  meanwhile, you can just build a bunch of lodges on top of each other and that would transfer just as well :D

  The vertical shaft could just be "variation" of normal shaft. Such as L shape shaft could be togger to upward or downward too. T and X shape could be toggle to vertical and horizontal
  
  With this we have the key to switch variation of various things

  I agree. An L-shape vertical for power would save me a lot of pain connecting buildings that need power...

  Recently I have started building my power shafts underground into a series of dynamited holes with a platform above it. This is very useful, because power shaft on the ground level act as a barrier, while I can put paths on the platforms above them, and the holes can pull double-duty as canals.
  
  For this setup, a power shaft part that can transfer power onto the building above it would be tremendously useful. Also if it could take power from a windmill or engine above, that would be nice.
  
  The different pieces are a nice touch, but it would be nice if you could upgrade the straight piece into a T or an X, and vice-versa. Or just remove those and make the power shafts auto-adjust depending on the power shaft pieces around it.

  Hi! First of all I must congratulate you for the game, it is really very interesting and holds you for several hours, mainly because you can stack buildings, until today I had not seen anything like =D
  
  I'm just really missing vertical power connections that also have more than one side of the snapping gear position, as well as the others...I'm not in the endgame yet, so for now that's it ^^ in advance thanks for the Warning!!

  I'd like to see pieces that just turn and/or go straight up/down so we come up under our buildings - I'd prefer to hide all my power underground. I build sewers under all my paths for water drainage, and then I could just run the power through those as well.

  The high-power shaft only transmits power in one direction (forward). There are plenty of cases where a player would want to transmit power up and to the left, right, or opposite directions. Without more configurations, if you want to link power shafts from one level to a tile up and to the left, players need to use a high-power shaft along with two extra shafts to redirect the power on the next level. Having three more possible directions (up and to the left, up and to the right, and up and to the rear) would save critical space for power shaft systems. Additionally, a straight power shaft that points upward/downward would allow players to build a power shaft that extends straight up over multiple levels.

  It would be great if we had the ability to use the "Power Shaft Turn" to build lines vertically. With that you could eliminate the need for High Power Shaft. This would allows us to build power lines upwards. This would be helpful to getting up multiple levels easier and more clean. Nothing I love more then is to see clean lines verse a stair case of cluster. Also giving the ability to make a power storage device like a battery or something would be great when your base isn't producing energy. That way you get rewarded late game and can create 24-7 power. This game is very enjoyably and relaxing, like adult legos. A few more sounds tracks would be lovely as well!

  I also thought about this, but in a more simplified way for the players, and I think a bit more versatile. It would consist in three type of shafts: vertical shaft, horizontal shaft and a node shaft. The node would allow connections from any side, and should be dynamic, so if we have a shaft already connected to a node it should show a single gear on that side, but as soon as we connect a new shaft on another side of the node, a new gear would pop in that other side.
  
  The current "high power shaft" would be the conjunction of two "node shafts" one on top of the other, but with the addition of being able to connect every single side of that node with new shafts, and without the need to destroy the shaft in that point in other to upgrade it to another kind of connection.

  Could we please have this? Building huge steppers is such a bummer always. We could just add a 6-way splitter and a vertical shaft to bring the power to the batteries' elevation, would be a lot better in all aspects.

  The powered water pump only has 2 squares that can connect it to power and 4 others that look like they should but don't.
  
  This makes it quite annoying to figure out how to connect the pump in tight spaces or when multiple pumps are close together but not perfectly lined up.
  
  This is similar to the issue windmills had in the past where they only connected on one side which made it super annoying to connect a large wind farm. But you gladly fixed that (though it would also be nice if they connected directly when placed on solid buildings that transmit power, like how almost every other building in the game connects).

  I would like to see powershafts that can transfer power vertically and water pipes that can transfer water like a powershaft when hooked up to a mechanical water pump or put on a high hillside, i think this would make it easy to hook up more advanced creations when you reach end game.
  
  PS. i dont have a picture for it but i know there are mods that do both of theys things, it would be nice if they were vanilla.

  Split the high power shaft into a bottom shaft that goes 90 degrees from horizontal to vertical and a top piece that converts vertical shaft to horizontal. these two parts make the existing unit and can spin to change the shafts direction. This facilitates vertical power shafts and also tapping power directly under buildings. can make utility levels to the beaver stacks.

  Currently it is possible to use a house to transfer power directly to the tiles above it. The 2x1 house is particularly useful for this, however when using this trick if the house isn't connect to a district (which it doesn't need to be to work for power transfer), it either needs to be turned off permanently (showing a pause icon forever over it) or leave the "disconnected building" notification forever. Neither of these are ideal, but it's also obvious this little trick a bit of a hack.
  
  However, it would be nice if we could just have a power shaft that actually does this. I understand the reason it doesn't exist because just stacking itself would trivialize upward power transfer, but technically a 2x1 house stack already does this. However, I think if the new Upward Power Shaft could be restricted to only not stack on itself, then it keeps that in place while still being useful as an end point to transfer power to a building above it.

  When building buildings, it would be useful to supply energy from below. For example, combine a platform and a lifting mechanism and add entry points from the bottom of all production buildings. Remove the top gear from the model of the lifting mechanism and add a platform with a hole in the center on top.

  I´m the kind of builder, who tries to hide as many power shafts as possible below platforms so I dont have to see them. So I thought, maybe add a kind of power shaft that releases the power upwards, so it can be placed under a building. It would also add a few new possibilities for maybe decorations or happyness buildings that needs power.

  - firework stands (maybe)
