Loading Screen Progress Bar or Animation
The title says it all. Sometimes unsure if the games hangs or is actually loading. For people with slower pcs this might be very comforting, to see something is happening.

LydiaYES!!! Even if it's just a spinner and not a progress bar, just some form of movement would be much appreciated so that you know it hasn't frozen!!

KeriI agree. At the very least, they need to be playing music while it's loading so that you know it's not hung up.

ShakesAbout every second time I start a game, it hangs on a dark screen. The only way to get out of this for me is to end the task with task manager. Upon subsequent game startup, it loads every time like normal.

AnnaI would love to see any movement on the loading screen.
And if the music won't dissappear it would be nice too! -

Xiao593 MergedHopefully, you can add a progress bar or keep playing music in the "loading" screen, otherwise it will give the player the illusion that the game crashes or freezes.

Vanilla MergedThe length of the initial loading is quite long ; considering there's only one, it's not that big a deal. However, the first time I launched the game (and some time afterwards) I legit wondered for a couple minutes if the thing was working as intended or if the game had crashed and I had to kill it.
The addition of a loading bar or even any form of mobile element like a rotating loading wheel would allow the player to quickly assert that loading is progressing fine. It would also have the added benefit of confirming whether loading proceeds or not if the window is out of focus. -

bleistift2Please don’t use a spinner. No spinner I’ve ever encountered actually cared if the program crashed or not. They just happily keep spinning.
If you can pull off a progress bar, that would be nice, but my experience with these is that they always rush up to 53%, then skip to 86%, hang there for 5 minutes, then skip to 100%. This isn’t useful, either.
If you could give us a log of what it is you’re doing, that would be immensely helpful. Even if the logs themselves are cryptic to most users, having a list of small tasks rush through provides way better feedback of ‘something is actually happening’ than ‘loading 86%’.
Oh, and don’t forget to pull the notifications from Windows, so we don’t get the ‘This program isn’t responding’ message. -

Gin Fuyou AdminI suppose making progress bar that realistically (even roughly) assesses loading time is extremely difficult. It's not like loading a game is process of solving a number of equations and you can estimate required time for all by timing first few. It highly depends on hardware and different aspects of it. So progress bar usually is likely split by required processes without any estimation how much time it can really take.
