gate+warehouse combo
a building that mixes the function of a district gate and a warehouse; a warehouse with two entrances that also acts as a gate.
would require both districts to be close enough to reach the warehouse. will allow haulers to make the trip instead of requiring distro centers and complex trade routes.

SonOfUmarthYES! If i could add one building to the game this would be it.
The Problem with the distribution centers is that the throughput is just low, which is fine for moving some food or explosives or high quality material for specific building projects.
However, if i build a new dam and need 500+ logs I usually build (several) log piles at district boundaries and move the district gates every second day. This way you can move ~200 logs over district boundaries every day compared to ~20 with a distribution center(which is a huge building that i don't want to spam).
The problem is that it feels exploity and it is kind of annoying micro management.
Another advantage of this would be that it makes the boundary quite permanent. -

RuNuLuK MergedA new building which works like a normal warehouse, but is placed at the border of 2 districts and has 2 entrances on opposite sides, with each entrance connected to a separate district. This would let you share items between districts easily without setting up distribution routes, as the beavers would naturally fill the warehouse up from the district where the item is plentiful, and withdraw from the side where it is in demand.

RyvreThis suggestion would make it feasable to build smaller than maximum size districts with much less trouble, currently due to the extra labor and space needed for transfers between districts and the limited quantity that can be transferred it is difficult to do this.

WhiteRoo MergedCurrently there is a trick where you can build storages in reach of 2 districts, and then just move the district gate around depending where you want the storage to be. It would be great, if this could be done without trickery.
Either storages could just function outside district gates, or even have 2 doors on them that can connect to 2 different districts.
Or, storages set to the same material and touching could work as a single storage space, and therefore could have multiple doors. -
