Better Employment/Unemployment Statistics
Currently, employment statistics are represented as follows;
Employed/Available (jobs)
This, while in and of itself useful, lacks significant information that can easily be represented. I propose a few alternatives and suggestions;
Employed/Available/Demanded - The benefit of this is that it does not include "paused". This is a beneficial QOL change because it prevents the player from believing certain structures are not having their employment needs met.
Employed/Available/Employable - This would ideally only be on the topmost overall display. This allows players to see the amount of citizens they need for full employment demand to be met.
Employed/Available (Unpaused)/Employable - This tries to mesh the prior two.

Logan MergedRight now it tells us How many beavers are adults and how many are employed, such as 34 adults and 34 employed. Since the info of how many beavers are out of jobs in that tab, and how many adults I have in the top tab, It would be nice to have it changed to Adults/Jobs available. I often don't realize that I've built too many buildings and a few are empty because there's not easy way to spot that.

FuryoftheStars MergedOnly issues I’ve had with that display are 1) unless you’ve got a building from the district you are looking at selected, the display is of all your districts combined, and 2) that paused housing still shows as available there.

Day MergedOne thing I struggled with was figuring out how many beavers were working and how many more I need. It would be very nice if the statistics were modified to show for each building type:
beavers working there/enabled positions/total possible positions.
For example, if you have two builders huts, you can have 8 possible beavers working as a builder, you disabled 2 spots so only 6 beavers can work there. However, because of lack of population, only 3 beavers are working as a builder. The statistic would show:
Builders' hut 3/6/8
This would be much easier to manage your workforce. -

Dan MergedThe employability list is quite useful however the main tab that summarises it all seems a bit inconvenient. It currently shows 'Employed/Adults' yet it's already rather easy to see how many adults are in your colony. I suggest 'Employed/Available Jobs' this will be a much greater ratio, in my opinion. It will save us from counting the total available jobs ourselves, also the employed/adults ration is already included in the tab itself as 'Unemployed'. This will just make it smoother and quicker for those calculating how many jobs are still empty and so how many more beavers they need.

H3LS MergedLooking at the district work allocated, would love to see workers/work available/total available. Example - 4 water pumps , 3 open for work and only 2 workers would look like: 2/3/4.
LOVE the game BTW -

Jimbo JamboUpvoted.
I do want to caution against making the readout too complicated. The number of paused jobs is really the only thing that's not shown, so besides changing the summary readout to match the individual readouts (as @Dan suggested), that's really the only information that I think needs to be added.
I would display it as "A/B (C)", where A is the number of employed beavers, B is available jobs (that is, worked jobs plus empty ones), and C is all jobs (available plus paused). The idea of the parentheses is to show that that C is not an entirely separate statistic, just a variation of B. -

LordBluefiree MergedThe Jobs HUD currently shows Adult/Employed beavers. when I want to know, how many Jobs are available in total or vacant, I have to manually count them.
I think a counter like this would be more convenient:
Employed/Vacant jobs
or
Employed/Total nr of jobs
I think adult beavers are not nessesery there, because we allready see their count in the beaver listing. -

Andy W MergedI'm looking at the Employment panel for one of my districts at the moment, and in the header it reads 41/41. However, I have three buildings that lack workers: two are unpowered and one doesn't need power. It feels like this should be reflected in the displayed numbers.
I propose that the Employment panel numbers should be 'working: %d / workplaces: %d / total: %d'. I'd also add a number for 'workplace available, but building unpowered' but I can't think of a single-word descriptor for it. -

GTX MergedOn the left of the UI where it lists Employed/Adults, it would be nice to have it show something akin to "Vacancies", showing a total number of employment slots against total number of adults. It would make it easier to see how many more beavers you need to fulfill all available work slots.
eg: Total Number Employed / Total Number of Adults / Total Number of Work Positions -

lohithbb Merged# Suggestion
In the top left UI, in the section for Employment, it says (employed / adults).
Can this be changed to (employed / slots)?
This is so that its consistent with the breakdown given below for each profession.
It also saves me having to manually summing them up so that I know how many workers to migrate to districts. The total adults as the 2nd argument is kind of redundant as the section above shows the total adults / children. -

Conrad MergedIn the population UI (top left), there are three categories: the population, showing adults and children; the housing; and then the employment. Under employment, each type of building is displayed with the number of workers and maximum possible workers, however, the summary line only provides information regarding the current number of workers with no information about the number of jobs. It would be vastly more useful if the summary displayed the totals for the itemized list displayed below it, comparing the total employed against the total possible jobs. To account for the unemployed, the "Employed Beaver" figure could simply be "Adult Beavers", though this is redundant due to the Population category.
For example:
Employment [Employed Beavers]/[Total Jobs] -
