Rooftop Terrace and Camp Fire lighting problems
Illumination from the Rooftop Terrace is inconsistent and flickers during camera motion. This affects beavers sitting around the light and nearby buildings and terrain.
If you have several together, it's rare that they all appear as intended.

FuryoftheStarsYup, I've been getting this, too. Interestingly, it wasn't until I had at least 3 in close proximity that this started happening.

Christian MergedI have the same problem - even after the new update concerning the rooftop terraces.
I also use unlocked camera and the effect behaves similar to the "z-fighting" of textures - depending on the camera position/angle/zoom, some terraces are lit and some aren't, or some flicker on/off without the camera beeing moved. When the flickering occurs, "group x" flickers off while "group y" flickers on, and vice versa. Just like textures z-fighting...

I hope this helps!
Thanks for the great game! <3 -

xDamiz MergedWhen I created 4 campfires next to each others at night, I noticed that when I rotate the camera, the glow near the campfire disappeared.

Tomloo MergedThis is a pretty small visual bug that I found while playing the game. Some of the campfires and rooftop terraces have lightning that turns on/off depending on camera angle and movement and the top left campfire has weird lightning no matter the camera angle and movement. The cycle, day or the amount of beavers and other structures doesn't matter as I have this bug for like 12 cycles.
Some extra info: This is my second playthrough (medium mode) of the game with the Folktails (the first one I thought the game broke and didn't connect lumberjack flags to paths but I most likely just faced them the wrong way (Im smart)), I haven't started another playthrough yet. The paths in front of the campfires also glitch. -

Christian MergedAfter the 2021-10-20-update, the rooftop terrace light bug changed for me:
- before the update, the lights were flickering on/off depending on camera angle/position/zoom and upon beavers entering/leaving the terraces
- after the update, the lighting does no longer flicker (yaaayyy!) but some terraces are lit and some are not (camera and beavers have no effect, some just stay lit, the others stay dark)
Please see attached image.

FuryoftheStars MergedYeah, I was having the same issue for a bit, then it went away. Only thing I noticed in my case was that while the bug was present, I had rooftop terraces queued up for construction. Once all were built, the issue went away.

Zam! MergedIt's a known bug for at least few versions back, but if I recall correctly, this is unfortunately a problem with the Unity engine, not the game itself. Last time I've checked the team was working on reducing the number of dynamic lights to combat this to a degree.

Christian MergedThis was already posted a few times (including myself) but I may have new information.
The screenshot shows the same camera position / angle, only with different zoom levels (quarter 1-3). The 4th quarter shows a minimal camera position change (only a few pixels) and that different lighting / shadow effects seem to be fighting each other, since the shadow on the ground just pops in / out of existence.
I get the feeling that the problem is related to how close the different light sources are and if their light / shadow would interfer with other ones. If you place two close together but have a big enough building inbetween, they work fine.
The bug with the camp fires is different from the one with the rooftop terraces, since the terraces change their bugged lighting state upon camera changes and beavers entering / leaving - the camp fires only react to camera changes.
I hope this helps with finding the problem.
Thanks for the great work, looking forward to the next update. -

Christoph MergedWhen moving the camera around, the lighting effect on campfires disappears seemlingly randomly.
I am playing on v1.1.0 (Update 1) from GOG on Windows 10 x64 in window mode with graphics on Ultra.

Whiteshadow MergedI just noticed the following Problem:
I have to campfires placed right next to each other and a large watertank placed at the intersection between the campfires.
So the Watertank is touching both campfires (with the back side).
When the Campfires burn, the glow generated by the Campfires isn't correct but flickers between the glow from either campfires. (In the picture you obviously only see the glow from the right campfire, but in game it flickers between both)
The Watertanks on the left side behave properly. -

Hai MergedOn the latest experimental version on Steam,
with the game paused, zooming out and turning the camera can still make the rooftop terrace lights of the Folktails flicker at night. I imagine that there are two models being rendered on top of each other and this is a kind of Z-fighting. It was worse in much earlier versions of the games. I was surprised that it can still happen now. :)
*Edit I don't think it's Z-fighting. Rather, it's probably an accuracy problem with the position of the light object itself. In some orientations, a beaver sitting next to it is unlit, or only the beaver is lit and the table isn't, or both are suddenly unlit. This is on a 256² map, and the terrace is exactly four blocks above the lowest ground level.
I guess this is just a minor edge case thing... -
