Schooling and intelligent upgrades. Education system
In order to make some cool upgrades and gradually upgrade buildings, maybe intergrate education into the games. What I had in mind is that childeren actually can get to school or are thought at the campfre by adults. A portion of the beavers who actually recieved education can perform certain jobs (better). Like for example of an educated beaver produces science, they produce it twice as fast due to their experience. Or are better forresters, farmers etc.
Maybe exclusively educated beavers have the availability to work with special crops like apples and fruit gardens, or are able to enchant/brew/work as baker to give some idea's.
Lastly, maybe certain buildings like the monuments or the major upgrades can only be unlocked by educated beavers, like large housing, large storage systems, and the large windmill?

BardGT MergedI think it would be a good idea to add a school building where unemployed beavers would first have to receive training before working in their chosen profession. This would allow you to assign a beaver to an occupation and add more immersion (just like in Alien Nations 2). Additionally, it would be nice for each trade to have a unique outfit so that the beavers can stand out.

KaguyaMaybe the press can choose to print different kinds of books to record various kinds of knowledge , which help working , get more SP , or just make beavers happier like books in game now.

minivickersBeaver school for kits, but also a university. Once old enough, can assign workers to go learn new skills for specific jobs for an efficiency and science bonus. These beavers are automatically "next in line to fill a position, or the game just hires the most educated beavers to work in each job. Similarly, you could create a workforce sectors system where instead of training for each specific job at school, beavers are assigned to forestry, plumbing, science, or agriculture, and receive a generic bonus in whatever area.
A school/daycare for young beavers would be a cool stand alone building, but a university could be made of multiple parts designed to allow customization and continuous expansion of the building to simply be aesthetic. -

DR490MAThis does solve many things and keep it balanced.
Get the adults in school, too to slowly get the whole population educated. A bit more waiting until they're employable but still waiting until they're adults. I'd suggest 6 days until they're adult and old enough for the school and then 3-6 more days in school to be educated.
Give the beavers about 50% more productivity in whatever they're working. Either faster or producing more.
Also it's a new building variants are beautiful to create a nice looking city. -

Jimmy Rourk Merged- New building options such as schools (thats what books could be for!), university, Beaver Museum, dentist (ie. After building increases log production 10% for that district), new energy option for late game that is more consistent than wind and river flow (solar? - but not so great in winter), Pet store - beavers should keep squirrels as pets!, etc
- More crop/food options - apples (tree), corn, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. I know they dont eat corn per se… but these beavers are also building windmills..so… anyway… As a result, need more variety of food making buildings and recipes (beaver nuggets!) - I just ready that Beavers really like Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches… just sayin! 😂 - see https://twitter.com/fallontonight/status/956951019296092161 -

Vaareth MergedSo, i saw a lot of school things but all of them are too much really, like independently choosing the beavers job ? no thank you, on 2x speed with 500 beavers and 3 districts nope.
But, recently i'm always thinking about a school system because it's tedious pausing each and every pump, each drought....
So i thought that educated beavers could do it for me, and you need schools for that.
My idea goes like this :
- School (mid game) [Logs, Planks, Books] : educated beavers can now do tasks on their own.
It unlocks a new check box for certain factories, specifically pumps, that when checked, only educated beavers can work there, and since they are educated they stop working when a drought hit and resume when it ends.
- University (late game) [Logs or Metal, Treated Planks, Books] : highly educted beavers can now perform technical tasks.
- Dam operator flag (only for higly educated beavers) placed near a gate, beavers can lower it automatically.
- Depth Gauge : mesure water depth -

JuneauAlaska MergedMake the ability to create educational institutes, like schools. Schools actively use items like books, and help increase the literacy rate. A beaver who is more literate can perform tasks more efficiently, get into far less accidents (thus reducing the need for utilities like medical beds or teeth sharpeners), and use resources far more effectively, which makes them less vulnerable to major climate events such as droughts + far lower risk of dying.
1
Educational institutes may also be a factor for constructing buildings, for example - a very high technology building such as a factory (just an example) could require beavers to have a literacy rate that comes from either high schools or universities, or something simple like a crop-gathering job wouldn't require any form of basic education.
My idea for schools available per level:
i) Elementary - 100 science points
ii) Middle School - 200 science points
iii) High School - 500 science points
iv) University - 1000 science points -
