Grain Silo (New Storage Tech)
Like the title says, just to increase building diversity and use the science points.

Gin Fuyou AdminI think it would be better idea for storage specialized for food only, to act as "food distribution" points, so they are not overloaded with other resources.

Évelyne LachanceI'd really like if this were generalized as "single use, high-capacity storage" where it's not limited to even grains or food. I know it doesn't feel like it makes much sense to have 1000 planks in a silo, but this is the sort of thing that I'm going to want to do eventually, and something I always end up seeking in, say, Minecraft mod packs (a "deep storage" or "barrel" or whatever it's presented as in a mod).
Because yes, I'm already seeing storage problems where I have 1000+ food items of various kinds and then I have 400 planks and all my warehouses are jammed with random items and it triggers the bit of OCD I have.
I mean we have large capacity water silos, right? Make 'em for everything! :P -

It is exhausting to adjust the bearings accordingly. A kind of supermarket for ready-made food, or a bakery / bistro and a large warehouse for raw food. -

David C BollingerI agree. I had 2k bread, 1.5k berries, and 1.5k planks for a while. I actually let up a massive block of large warehouses and set one dedicated warehouse for each item, plus more for overflow. I'd definitely like more storage options, both in terms of size/shape and in terms of specialized storage.

Arkofood specific storage would nice as it something that needs more repartition over the map than other resources (for starting a new district f.e.). Silo looking is probably fine for it.

BrianSingle item large storage(for food) is probably a good idea. At least for unprocessed food or crops. Not sure it makes sense to have a silo of bread. But for potatoes and wheat, this makes a lot of sense. Not too bad an idea for berries and carrots, but I think all the other items are just fine in regular storage. And this would allow more unlocks for science. Even in multiple sizes so long as the devs don't mind making more art artifacts.
Some of these could even be locked behind factions.
Small Grain Silo - 250 wheat, 500 research points, 10 logs, 20 planks, 5 metal blocks
Large Grain Silo - 1000 wheat, 2000 research points, 25 logs, 50 planks, 18 metal blocks, Folktails ONLY.
Small berry silo - 200 berries, 400 research points, 5 logs, 10 planks
Large berry silo - 500 berries, 1000 research points, 10 logs, 20 planks, Iron Teeth ONLY. -

Big RedYeah, thousands of berries and carrots clogging up my warehouses is a real problem. Raw food storage for basic crops is a great solution, and you coulld make the various depots hae different visuals by the 4 different raw crops. Adds to the visual diversity. And let them stack onto themselves only, without requiring building up to a new door. Like, make that grain silo taller, Bill. We got a big crop coming in this season.

RayneIn this connection, a warehouse with the appearance of a restaurant would be a good idea. It is a bit tasteless for beavers to finish their meals in a warehouse.

Gilles MergedConsidering Folktail have a farming specialisation, I'd much rather see them have a type of storage we're used to seeing on farms: silos.
At first I thought to keep the stats for the underground warehouse, but turn it into a huge silo instead. The down side to that would be that it might block your view of your village.
Alternatively, Folktail could have small, hyper-efficient silos. 1000 capacity in a 2x2x2 footprint. These smaller but more efficient storages could allow us to sort our storage (only allow one item or one group of items per silo, if we want to micromanage these things.)
(Although we're used to thinking of silos to store grain, real world silos also store things like coal, cement, sawdust, etc. So it shouldn't be limited to food items by default.)
(The underground warehouse is a really cool idea, but I'd rather see it as part of a new faction that specialises in digging. I'll make a different post about those.) -

EriewmatayIt's of vital to have storages exclusively for food. Beavers need to eat at the end of a day, and it'd help raising the efficiency if there's a grain silo near their living area.
