Placing the First District Centre (Pick choose select starting location)
I am now starting my new games by placing a new District Centre closer to where I want to get started with my buildings and dams, and deleting the original Dc. Doing this appears to help with early game establishment, and has been allowing me to plan my cuties better.
Could we either have the option to select our own starting point, especially if the time comes when DCs need to be built rather than placed.

Gongplox MergedI appreciate the variety in map designs, and the options you've given us to mess around with the maps, but it didn't initially occur to me to check the "edit map" section when I was trying to figure out how to select a custom starting location on a map. If there is a way this could be implemented into the game instead of a separate menu, that would be much appreciated.
Game is great so far, looking forward to seeing what you all do with it in the future! -

Currently as it stands, doing this is a double edged sword. By deleting the original DC, you also delete any starting resources that you may have and depending on which map you are on, will determine how quickly you could recover from the move.
If you were to use the base recommended map as an example, and wanted to relocate to the far righthand side of the map; by the time your beavers make their way to the new DC, a full day would nearly be gone before they could start gathering berries and wood. This greatly increases the risk of them dying from thirst or starvation, but the pay off can be a better designed city that can grow more organically. -

boxestbike5181 MergedIt would be nice if I could choose where to place my first district center so I can make my start harder or easer. This would also add more replayability since players would be able to play the same map but with different starts.

TetrygonCurrently, you can place another district and migrate your beavers at the start of the game. The only limitations are that you need to be able to walk there, and can't take all of your starting resources.

Cilera Dragonfang MergedI would absolutely love the idea of deciding where to set my first district center. Where they are put now makes logical sense, don't get me wrong. But on some of the maps like Terrace it would be cool to put my first district at the very bottom and make the goal of working my way to the very top which is premo territory. It would be a way for the player to set a new level of difficulty or goal for themselves. Especially on larger maps where there really isn't a current reason to go past 4 or 5 districts or utilize the entire map.

GeorgeIf the player did put down the first district center, you could limit the location by spawning the beavers and use the separated warnings to guide the player the place it where the beavers can reach it, as that is what Bright'Shadow is doing but having to delete the old one. For newer player there could be a ghost building suggesting a start location.
As the player is placing the first district center the tutorial update to introduce the idea of multiple district at the start of the game. -

JaquiI love this idea, I often edit a map and change where the starting location is just to make the game different so it would be nice if I could just pick a location at the start of a game.

NyoraiaWhen making/editing a map, the creator should be able to add multiple district buildings and placement areas.
When the player starts the map, he gets to choose a starting location and where to place the district building within the designated area.
That way, it offers a certain degree of freedom while maintaining the maps' design elements in place so as not to break the game/map/challenge.
(Alternatively, simply being able to set tile areas as "accept district" in the map editor and leave the placement of the building entirely to the player as long as it is on at least one "accept district" tile.) -

Me MergedI think the district center should have a door on all four sides. Also, getting to place the district center at the start of a map would be an interesting addition. You can still have a suggested starting location.

Ayden MergedInstead your beavers starting in the same place on the available maps, it would be fun to be able to freely choose the location to start your beaver town.
This way each map could offer many different play-through challenges of varying levels of difficulty, simply by allowing players the freedom to choose their starting point on the map near different resources, on different islands, or even at more difficult elevations that could even lead to an almost certain failure, or possibly a narrow survival of your town by your choices of starting location.
I find once a map is fully developed, it is less enticing to return once again and start at the exact same place on the map from scratch. But this option could alleviate such repetition.

Claudine MergedIt would be nice to choose the position of the first District building! I could built it on higher grounds, and if a full dam is available from the start we could FLOOD the river section to change the map topographie! Like real Beavers ;)

Rishabh Yadav Mergedthere should be some location set on every maps on which district hall gets spawned on, so like every time you play a map the district hall is at different playable places and not like at same place every time. This can help in exploring the map 'cause when you play a map it's always located the same you start at.
