Performance bug: The slower the simulation speed, the higher GPU usage. Paused game eat 100% GPU
When I pause the game, my GPU goes to 100%, as indicated by the Windows 10 Task Manager-GPU-3D. Running the game would only takes 30%-50%.
And strangely, the slower the simulation speed, the more GPU it takes. (Speed 1 takes more GPU than speed 3)
I think it's a bug.
I am using Nvidia GTX 1080 FE + AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (Zen 3)

Likely believed related to this - my GPU Util is running 100% while set to Full Screen. When I remove the Full Screen check mark, my GPU util drops to an average of 30%.
This caused my GPU temp to spike from it's regular 65°C up to to 86°C. I did not start noticing this change until V1.0.4.0-25ce8fb-xsw. I am running experimental mode currently. Please let me know if this is something I should be reporting in a separate thread. -

Gin Fuyou AdminNot a specialist but it actually may be related to that FPS has no limit at the moment, so less CPU is loaded with game logic, the more it can load GPU with drawing frames.
Let's have devs check it out and maybe merge to corresponding report later. Thanks for reporting. -

PantoffelkarlchenI can confirm. I noticed it because several times after I paused briefly and returned, the fans of the graphics card were at maximum speed.

I thought the FPS limit was set to 60 by default? At least that's what the Steam overlay shows me at maximum. -

NalitJust to add to the discussion:
- Given: the game is paused
- And run on background is enabled
- When: alt tab to a different window
- Then: GPU consumption goes to 100% (even with FPS limit)
Game version: v0.6.9.4-5873e3b-sw
GPU driver: nvidia 565.90
