Faction suggestion : Desert beavers
In a post-apocalyptic world it is only natural some beavers evolve to cope with the harsher climate.
Desert beavers require less water then oth factions and make better use of what little water they have but require breaks during the hottest part of the day (during draughts?).
(+ less water req. per beaver -- far less production from every job during draughts)
Faction buildings/features cld include:
-Irrigation tank increased to 2x3 but includes a large white cloth to capture water from the air (decreases drain by 50%) can be built w/o planks.
-A special cloth or tent (3x3?) which can be built above water which decreases evaporation of the tiles beneath it by a large (e.g. 75%) amount.
-Roofed buildings above the water decrease evaporation on that tile by a large amount
-Dead trees gives 2x as much wood
As for style, think desert nomadic. all tropes apply :)
-I've been trough the desert on a log with no name-

Tweelicht+ a different food source that is better drought resistant.
+ low foil greenhouse to reduce water use -

Celdurmaisteri+ caravans to remote building sites: they carry all of the food, beavers and resources needed for builders to distant places without the need to build districts. And once the construction is complete they return to home. Useful building those remote aquaducts, dams and power stations.

doomvaderMaybe to process the log into planks / paper, they have to dry the wood out first if it wasn't harvested from dead trees, in a unique building.
Trees and crop dry out and die faster for this faction.
I can imagine the intersting gameplay wher you cut water to your wood farm to dry them out before harvesting. And you move that water to a differant area to grow trees there for the next source of wood. A bit like crop rotation. It seems fun. -

BRGA Joshua tree. Takes long to grow, yields few logs, but requires to be grown on dry ground.

BRGCrops that require an initial watering, but then time dry to grow, like corn, beans, or pumpkin.

Michael James MergedTwo more factions could be an idea, desert beavers that need less water or the aqua beavers that need more water to survive. Each with unique buildings?

ClubSocks MergedA faction of beavers where there is constantly a drought, but every once in a while it rains and they have to use rain catchers to catch the rain. They will have to hunt for cacti and other desert plants for food. They can plant crops but they either have to wait for rain or use irrigation towers to grow them. When it rains it makes puddles that the beavers can collect and filter the water to be drinkable.

Y'shtolaCactus farming for flowers and flesh to eat, and juice to drink.
Underground dens to stay cooler during the day.
Maybe a faction-specialty of working during the night and sleeping during the day. -

Mathias MergedDear Timberborn team,
I would like to make a few additional suggestions that could give the game more depth and promote long-term motivation.
1. new faction " Desert Beaver
- Glass as a new resource for building, protection etc.
- Flax as a new resource for paper and clothing
- Cactus as a source of food and water
- Hardwood for stable constructions like ships
- Use of metal from ruins
- New maps Biome Desert/Oasis
Water is limited and only partially available, oases may be contaminated by bad water and must first be cleared. Not everything can be greened
2. new buildings
1. school
2. library (monument?)
3. beaver cemetery
4. trading post (a world map where trade can take place, not all resources more on each map)
5. shipyard + harbor for rivers and seas
6. weaving mill for clothing (new resource flax, cotton)
3. campaign
Start with a small map to learn the basics, the first missions should only be for the basics (identical for each faction) then depending on -
