Add shorter platform under existing platform without deleting, split \ replace tall platform

There have been a few times that I've built a vertical structure only to find that I need to replace my double or triple platform with a combination of shorter platforms in order to add a path, power shaft, etc. on a lower level. Unfortunately, this currently means deleting the platform and everything on it and rebuilding with additional platforms.

It would be nice to be able to place shorter platforms underneath of existing platforms without having to delete existing structures. Ideally it would only cost the difference in materials, i.e. additional planks, to add the platform but I would gladly pay the full price of the additional platform to save the cost and time to rebuild the existing structures.

if you have built a 2 or 3 high platform, you should be able to add a story without destroying what you have built.

Currently I have a long staircase going from one settlement to another. The bottom of the staircase has 3-high platforms supporting it. In one spot in the 3-high platforms, I need a 2-high platform instead for pathing. I should have planned better, but alas, now I must tear down part of my stairway.

But there are already logs/platform legs there! Why can't I just attach a new platform to the existing supports underneath the 3-high?

I've encountered many times the inconvenience when I place a double or tripple platform and build something on top of it and later realise that I need a path or a power shaft to go through there but one or two levels above the ground.
So to achieve that I would need to remove all buildings above the double or tripple platform, replace the platform with multiple smaller ones, and then build everything on top again.

My suggestion is to add a "split platform" option that can be applied either to a double platform to convert it into two single platforms on top of one another, or it could be applied to a tripple platform and convert it either into a single platform on top of a double platform or the other way around depending on where exactly the player clicks.

The option could cost 4 planks. This way the total amount spent would be exactly the same as if multiple platforms were used in the first place.

i often plan big and way too often i forget to account for a way for power or housing entrance ect, and i have to scrap half of the plan to remake it. usually the problem could be easily resolved if i had smaller platform there but for that i have to replace everything above it. it would be nice if i could change 3 floor platform into smaller one or just be able to build one under it
also while im at it, make it so that the platforms can be changed into levees, after all it would just require the beavers to fill the empty space.

Scenario: a triple platform is holding up a full warehouse but now you want a path 1m under the warehouse. Deleting the warehouse is how I fix that now, but then I either have to move the goods in the warehouse or lose them. And some Iron Teeth colonies can have a lot more than one warehouse sitting on platforms.

Adding or removing platforms should possible 'realistically' without compromising the structural support of the pillars and it would be a nice QOL feature to able to adjust platform height after initial construction is finished.

The title only mentions converting a triple to a stack of singles but more flexibility would be great, sometimes you need a double to fit in stairs or a raised power shaft (or a statue).

It would be helpful if it was possible to add/remove platforms levels in existing platforms (e.g. split a 3 high platform into a 2 and 1 high platform). That way you can (re)design a path into a platform that has functioning buildings on top.

I ran into a problem where I made a triple platform and then wanted to break it up into different floors after. There was no way I could do that without destroying the building i had built on the platform. Maybe add a "solid floor" item to fix the issue.
