Mineshafts, mining for ores, metals or other minerals
Certain ores for certain colonies (would probably need researched from 500 to 2000)
folktails: Copper (Could be used for: lightning rods produces energy or copper wire can transmit little bits of energy)
iron teeth: Coal (used in coal power plants or fuel for a boat)
This is just a suggestion you could have other ores or just none at all its all up to you of course!

AyDee MergedMake a feature where you can get drills to obtain underground resources(e.g. iron, copper) to make more advanced and high tech machinery. These drills should be made of iron blocks, planks, gears and a bit of logs. There should be two type of drillers. One where it is positioned where it can only dig straight down and one where you can dig into the side of a mountain. You could also add a beaver-operated drill. Like how you did for the suspension bridge, make it so that you can also get bigger drills to cover a bigger area. I think they should be located in a new tab at the bottom called digging or something like that. You would need to power it with an engine, big or normal windmill or waterwheel. Power consumption: 300hP. And add powerlines which are connected with big pylons. With the underground resource, you could add a automated farm, but I feel like that doesn't fit the jist of the game. Or, to fit the automated farms, you can make a new faction which is very modernised.

Davee MergedApart from scrap and metal blocks there very well could be much use for other types of resources used for varied purposes. Scrap can still be used for explosives and metal blocks still can be used for construction. What im suggesting is the new ore mechanic where you get patches of a certain ore on the surface of the map where the beavers can mine out.
Namely Iron,Copper,Oil
Although beavers can chop trees with their teeth therefore axes might be redundant, pickaxes are a necessity to extract harder rocks and metals. Which adds another concept to the game, tech tree and also workshop. Tech tree would look much neater and cleaner instead of the current UI where you have every tech on showcase but simply locked, the research mecahnic might stay the same but what you invest the research points into might be a new and exciting way of evolving your colony from unlocking different stats for the beavers, the different food they might eat, different tools they might use, or even buildings. -
