Expanded Berry Nutrition (Plus others)
I'd like to see more options for satisfying Hunger and Thirst, especially with Berries. We are able to grow them but they usually end up taking up space once farms are well established for Folktails. Even Iron Teeth don't really use that many. So I suggest a unlockable recipe for Berry Juice.
Berry Juice - Turn berries into Berry Juice. Satisfies Hunger and Thirst. Made in Water Pump (water not required).
This way we can early game have an alternative during droughts and mid game have something to sustain an out of the way district. Also I was thinking of other alternative food items.
Carrot Cake - Combine Carrots and Flour. Satisfies Hunger, Nutrition I and Nutrition III. Made in Bakery
Potato Soup - Combine Potatoes and Water. Satisfies Hunger, Thirst, and Nutrition II. Made in Grill.

Ok like i know what you were going for with the "Berries are starter resources and shouldn't do much" but i mean... why is it that we need them to survive if we play ironteeth? because after awhile, you don't need to have berries for a food source, but you need it to mkae baby beavers, you should atleast be able to select different foods to produce baby beavers. -

Alexander RodriguezPerhaps expand the recipes our beavers have access to, thru research and exploration (in ruins or off map) to craft new food stuffs:
Kitchen workshop, needs to researched, requires power, unlocks:
Tart: flour, water, wood, berries - speed boost
Stew: potatoes, carrots, wheat, water - strength boost
Cake: berries, carrots, flour, wood - aesthetic bonus boost
Juicery, needs to be researched, requires power and water, unlocks:
Juice: all edibles could be pressed and mixed with water and turned into a juice with each one giving a different bonus
Root Beer: water, berries, potatoes, carrots, wheat, wood - aesthetic, & social bonus boost
Wine: berries, water, time - social, aesthetic, & religious bonus boost
Beer: wheat, water, time - social bonus boost
Also, fermented food might be an idea, where food has a timer (older food being eaten before newer food) and fermented food could cause various debilitating factors up to unconsciousness and death if too much food is fermented? -

DillanYes please, I am absolutely drowning in berries and the only way to get rid of them is to eliminate all other food sources from a district. Once you get reliable irrigation berries only serve to eat up tremendous amounts of storage room.
They definitely should have some other uses as something other than the basic food. Giving them their own buff like -10% water consumption I think would put them in a good spot as a food source that would make keep them relevant throughout the entire game.
I would also love to see more combination recipes. Such as wheat flour + blueberries = blueberry pie or blueberry bread. -

Sampson MergedBerries should have a secondary use when eaten: The restore the thirst meter of beavers equal to about 1 water. This gives them a use late game for every faction, and saves water. This makes them useful during the harshest droughts. This should not be implemented if juice is added.

JundiyyI came here to suggest something like this and saw this topic.
Berries should be used in a receipe so that they aren't left to the side.
Perhaps use the Wheat Flour or any flour and mix it with berries. -

RickoTBerries are mostly water, I think they should give you a small amount of hydration (obviously not as much as water) maybe 4 berries to each 1 water

Orinoco MergedJust make berries give nutrition. Sure it's a starting resource, but come on, berries are nutritious!
And importantly the berries won't hog storage forever anymore.
This suggestion is for just adding berry nutrition, without requiring any fancy processes in order to get your beavers to eat berries with their other food. I don't think it will upset balance too much to have the +1 well-being. -

LMBerry pancakes! Wheat Flower water and berries. Besides shouldn't beavers like flat objects?
I also like the berry juicer/wine maker idea... maybe not full fermentation.... or Berries into alcohol / bio-fuel -

TheBeaverBuilder MergedAs the game currently exists (it's great!), blueberries just never get eaten after a certain point in the game because you have other foods, and sorta just sit there. But if you had a way to process them into another food late game, they would actually be useful, and make people save berry bushes, rather than destroying them freely for space when needed. So, for example, you could add a building like the fermenter but for both factions, like a Concentrator that makes jam out of blueberries and processes dandelions into "sugar" aka Dandelion Extract. Next, if there were more recipes in the Bakery, there would be Blueberry Pockets (1 Wheat Flour, 2 Blueberry Jam 1 Dandelion Extract 1 hour) and potentially modified Maple Bun recipe to need Dandelion Extract. The Maple Bun and Dandelion suggestions are just for more to do with them, but I really think blueberries need to be processed

NacoranBerry Juice. You have a new building, the press. It lets you make berry juice. Berry juice can be stored in tanks. It satisfies thirst and a little bit of hunger.
Berry syrup. You cook berry juice to concentrate it and use it as an alternative to syrup (beavers who get access to both are a little happier)
/Goofy idea... a beaver cannot live on berry juice alone... any time they have to drink it for hunger (beyond just thirst) they get a little 'berry poisoning'. Berry poisoning turns beavers blue (bluer the more poisoned they are). It slows them down by 50%. It can be treated in a medical bed, but isn't fatal. It slowly goes away over time on it's own when they are eating a more balanced diet.
