Map Overview - Zoom out to see map (further than with unlocked camera)
It would be great if we could have a button that gave us an overview of the entire map, so we could see everything in one picture

Greg MergedThe player should be able to zoom further out, and see the whole map at once from above. The current limit makes it hard to find and recall ruins and other notable terrain features.

palidine40 MergedHaving the ability to zoom out to an almost completely map wide view would help in cases where people want to share pictures of their designs on forums, or if they want to discuss general designs, or if they want to report bugs that involve separate areas of the map. It'd make the game more communicable to other folks and give more opportunities to share idea.

KomodoThis extended zoom could also implement a better overview of the districts - what resources are available, which are being generated, labour overview etc

AyJai MergedWould like to able to zoom out a bit further. The current configuration is fine but as I've started to create additional districts, it can be a little more difficult to see the landscape in order to establish the best routes between them. A higher view could also be helpful to get a better idea of the landscape for establishing those new districts.

James Livingston MergedHonestly my only complaint about the game, from the lense of early access, is that the camera is really limited. Specifically in its ability to zoom out. Honestly it would be perfect if the camera in an official run had the same functionality as the camera in the map editor. More zoom out would let us get nice screen shots of big maps and big colonies, and prevent high altitude maps from feeling weirdly claustrophobic.

TristanMaybe it's because I have an ultra-wide monitor, but the "Unlock camera" setting didn't do anything for the zoom-out limit, only the zoom-in limit.

Rick Martel MergedZooming:
I need to be able to zoom all the way out and see all my districts more easily. A minimap could help there too... Also, would love to be able to save multiple hot keys for view spots or buildings. Ex: Set #1 to jump to a flood gate, #2 to jump to my water pumps, etc.
When moving around the map without proper zooming, it would be awesome if districts could have their own theme (with different colors) to easy tell which district I am looking at.
Would love if I could have different path types. So then I could use very different looking paths for main routes between districts, farming areas, etc. -

Bobby MergedWould it be possible to add a togglable camera view of the map that scrolls way out to show near if not all of the world, showing your tiny green valley contrasted at the surrounding wasteland at the start of the game, and in the late game, showing your world and beaver civilization in the total well-oiled machine that it is, zoomed out to show all districts with one feeding and connecting to the other.
It'd just be a really cool quality of life thing to be able to see (and maybe screenshot) our beavers civilization working like an engine, in it's entirety. -

TK MergedIf it is possible without causing lag, I would really appreciate being able to zoom your camera out further from the land's surface. Right now, it becomes annoying that I cannot see all of some districts at once, and I feel awkwardly zoomed in. Would appreciate being able to zoom out further!

Beaver Enthusiast MergedSeeing how so much of this game is built on geoengineering and massive build projects, it would be great if you had a function which zoomed out to see your entire map (beaverless, for processing concerns) and be able to screen shot it from different angles.

Mephistokles MergedI started a new game at the Helix mountain and I am building a large structure on its peak. even with the unlocked camera the zoom to see the projekt from above which is pretty anoying since its much easyer to plan structures when you look at them from above. Also by improving the zoom one can look at the map from a higher angle. I for myself really enjoy looking at a finished map from a birds eye view. (its also a nice feature for panorama screen shots)

Julia MergedI see that zooming was addressed a few times, but I recently started playing again and it feels like I can't zoom out as far as I used to? If that's not the case (or maybe I was on a smaller map) -- I still feel like I should be able to zoom out as far as I want to (i.e. to see the *whole* map* no matter the size). It's overwhelming when I can't zoom at as far as I want and am forced to dig through the map looking for what I want. More forgiving zoom options would solve all my problems. Thank you! :)
