Penalty for Death Besides Population Loss
I like my colony management games punishing, and as such jumped straight into Hard Mode when I started. Naturally, my beavers died. Often. If a dry season went longer than I was ready for, I ended up finding the best solution was to make a new district in the wilderness, send all but 4 or so beavers there, and let them die. I felt bad, but there were no repercussions. Perhaps there could be some kind of "anti-amenity" system when traumatic or otherwise awful stuff happens (e.g. sleeping outside, beavers dying, or eating without a table)? It'd just be nice to know the beavers care when their kin die off en masse.

AntonI wanted to suggest that kind of stuff.
- When a beaver dies the others (his neighbours and collegues) become sad. No fun bouns for them and -50% to social bonus, The older the dead beaver is, and the higher the spirirtuality, the shorter is the sadness effect.
- If the beaver dies of hunger/thirst the friend-beavers become sad, all beavers become angry (reduced productivity). The older is your town the more angry they get when such things happen.
- If you have much food and water and someone dies of huinger/thirst the beavers are sad, angry and hesitant of the leasder's competence. If this kind of stuff happens often or many beavers die they may steal some food and leave the town.
Some farewell messages woluld be very good too.
"We worked from dawn to dusk, but we worked for noting.
The carrots we grew and the water we pumped helped no one.
Our firiends straved when we had a full warehouse of food and tons of warter!
The baron wasteland is not as cruel as you!" -

George MergedI just had a population collapse due to drought. It was incredibly sad. Not enough to sink the whole district, but like, 45% of the colony died.
a few seconds later I got a notification telling me that they were the happiest they have ever been.
Maybe there should be some sort of temporary nerf to happiness whenever a beaver dies, perhaps more if not related to old age. -

TalonidasI'd say remove the penalty if they died of old age, not fully realistic but it would be very annoying having constant debuffs for nothing of your own fault. But apart from that agree.

KEEF MergedSuggestion: Deaths should incur a temporary penalty to well-being until the next cycle, with the exception of old age.
Context: I accidentally let two of my districts die which resulted in the increase of the overall well-being, this unlocked the iron teeth faction. Increasing overall well-being by killing the unhappy folks doesn't seem right! -

Raemon MergedThis is related to the mechanical suggestion of "make death noises more obvious" (https://timberborn.featureupvote.com/suggestions/285685/death-noise-notifications), but one thing I'm interested in is specifically making me feel more connected to my beavers, and feel more motivation to take care of them rather than treat it like "okay, well, a bunch of beavers died but they'll make more beavers, shrug"
