[Suggestion] Pumpkins as a Halloween update (high risk/reward crop)
Halloween is comming soon and we could use some festive update just to hint at the autumn celebrations. How? Add pumpkins, but not as another boring crop that just grows and that's it. No! Let's make it a gamble to differentiate from carrots and make the size of the pumpkin determine how much food it provides with a visual representation in the size of the pumpkin itself. Contests for the largest pumpkin are a big part of many harvest festivals and would fit perfectly into the game where changing of the seasons is a big deal.
OK, let's talk numbers. I propose 7 tiers of pumpkin sizes (with their chances to happen in the brackets):
- 0 (15%) - nothing! Better luck next year!
- 1 (25%) - at least there is something to collect!
- 2 (25%) - still less than a carrot patch
- 3 (15%) - average
- 5 (10%) - nice!
- 10 (6%) - this is a contest pumpkin for sure!
- 20 (4%) - a real monster!
Totals: 100%, average yield 3.1 per tile. 65% of tiles below 3 and 20% of tiles with big pumpkins.

FuryoftheStarsAwesome idea, though I would like there to be something I could do to influence the chances….

Zam!Maybe beehives could change the chances instead of speeding it all up then? I think that is a nice mechanic that would make a good use of beehives. :)
