EN - Water pump vs mechancial water pump naming confusion, two possible solutions.
While "Water pump" is technically a correct name for both buildings, they are two different buildings with different use cases. The similar names thus cause some confusion.
I suggest renaming the Mechanical Water Pump to a "Mechanical Water Lift". That keeps it still technically correct, while giving a better idea as to it's game-play use. (Also makes it easier for me to explain that I want a "Manual Water Lift" building that acts like a slower and cheaper mechanical water pump but which requires a worker.
The other option is to rename the Water Pump to something like "Water Filtration Station", which has the added benefit of explaining why beavers can't just drink directly from the river. (I'd also like to see a mechanically powered water filter building as a late game IronTeeth building)

AntonI like renaming the pump to "Water Filtration Station".
Renaming the mahanical pump to lift is very confusing to me. For me a lift is a thing to move beavers and cargo, not a pump for liquids.
The mechaincal water filter should be a separate suggestion. -

sunyudaiThe difference between a pump and a lift is rather narrow, but a lift moved discrete batches of water while a pump is designed for continuous operation. These categories overlap, for example an Archimedes Screw is both a water lift and a water pump, and generally gets called a pump because of this. If you watch the mechanical pump operate in game, you'll see that it delivers water in batches, not continuously.
An example of a water lift that is not a water pump is the Shaduf, https://www.britannica.com/technology/shaduf -

RyanTo simplify adding new terminology, you could rename it "Mechanical Water Dump". There is already the small version, the 'Water Dump", that dumps water provided to it. This way terms already familiar to people are reused and there is less confusion.

Haladiran MergedPlease change description of mechanical water pump. "More efficient than a regular pump" <-- this is very misleading, because functions of this buildings are completly difrent. Maybe names of this buldings should be changed too.

PocketBeverI strongly agree with "Water Filtration Station" or "Mechanical Water Filtration" because that makes it more clear that it will move water from one place to another. In my first couple games I never bothered to unlock it because the name didn't make sense and I had a hard time reading the smaller text.
