Heightmap world generation
It would be cool if we could import heightmaps as jpeg images into the map editor and play in real world places

Gin Fuyou AdminThat's already possible with 3rd-party tools, might came built-in considerably later, but no promises.

NyoraiaThe Github Timberborn-Mapper looks complicated to use for non-initiated users. A simple import heightmap (only the land, not trees or water) in the map editor would be a huge help for map creation. There could even be a 16-colours (16 height levels) and 256x256 pixels max size restriction for the image if it makes implementation easier for the devs, at least for the time being.
Thank you as always! -

Gin Fuyou AdminNyoraia, it's not that complicated, but I had plans to contribute to it, making a binary (.exe) and easier instructions

Mike Schmdit MergedHello! I was just playing with the map editor for the first time and I have a suggestion. I would love to be able to import an image such as a contour map, or elevation map and have that as an overlay in the map editor. I am trying to replicate Yosemite Valley for example and I am doing it all freehand and it would be great to be able to have a doc of some type as a transparent overlay. Since it is a 3d environment, I would suggest placing it at the highest level and be transparent so a top down view would be able to see the relative elevations. Thank you!
