Stop the beavers from becoming irrelevant: Beavers to operated automation buildings manually
Beavers need to "take back" their roles in automation and robotics:
* It's fine to have logic gates, but they should require beavers pulling the levers.
* It's fine to have API callers, but they should have beavers sitting in front of a computer.
* It’s fine to have bots doing all the "white collar" jobs above, but they should be a different model equipped with AI that requires Research Points and power to maintain.
You don't need to assign one beaver for every relay and sensor. It could work like the lumberjack flag: beavers wait at a central "Control Station Flag" and move out to operate nearby buildings as needed. This way, one beaver can manage multiple automated structures. You could then customize the response time by assigning more or fewer beavers to the station—more beavers would mean faster reaction times for your automation.

TheHangoverGuyMaybe some kind of computer/control center that uses beavers/bots and lots of power to operate.
It could only control a set limit of sensors/etc until you added more control centers or modules to it. -

XeltoAt least, for the Folktails. Decrease the science cost of the automation buildings for them, and create a new building, the foreman's hut, that works the automation.
Ironteeth pay the current higher science cost for automation, but don't need to have anyone watching the buildings.
