Minimap
I think the game definitely needs a minimap, it is really hard to go around having to hold the scroll

Jcheungtip: shift lets you scroll around faster
tip 2: if you happen to know which district is closest to the area you want to see, you can select that district and snap over to it instantly (top right corner, may need to hit the down triangle to expand the window) -

Vicky LangstrumpfA mini map would be awesome. I would also like to be able to scroll all the way out to see the entire map. It sucks something that the angle of the camera doesn't stay the way you set it to be. I would also like to be able to watch my beavers from the side.

NacoranA compass would be nice too. It can get a little disorienting when you spin around a lot, plus having compass points would make talking to other people about a map much easier. (To the OP, while not a minimap, I did find that unlocking my camera in the settings let me zoom out a bit farther to get a better view.)

Exterminatorss MergedA mini map would be handy to be able to scroll fast to other districts. Maybe extra information could be shared on the map too.
Deconstruction would be interesting. Now all resources are lost when you "delete" a building. With deconstruction, the buildings would yield for instance half of the original resources. When making a new lay-out for your districts, it is a petty that you cannot reclaim any resources. -

SpaceRedlegAgree that both Mini-Map for rapid navigation (click to zoom/teleport), as well as a better zoom out function (further out, and pin to current surface level, not zero) would be extremely useful for increasing gameplay enjoyment.

Cptdzntzz MergedA small, minor detailed (different colored dots or color shaded areas representing buildings or resources etc) map somewhere on the game screen (corner area) or that can be a drop down that you can click on a specific area to move around the global map. Good addition to edge scrolling and zooming. Once cities get huge it’s a good quick visual for overall management and movement.

AdamMight be fun to tie the minimap to something like paper -> cartographer. A district will only be mapped when a cartographer is present and supplied. Initially you get a blank map and then if the cartographer is inactive the map stops updating.
In game lore makes sense as Beavers doing all this large scale construction would surely want some plans to work from and an idea of how the land is laid out. -

mrtoxopus MergedA viewable (top down) map of the playable area, highlighting resources.
I found myself having to scan the map every time I needed a new iron scrap patch. A map that shows the whole area at the click of a button would make finding and pathing to new areas a lot easier. -

Dominique MergedIt would be nice to have a clickable small map, to both have an overview of the entire map (to make it easier to explore), and to situate the current main view inside the entire map.
Click on it would ideally translate the main view to the new selected area.
Further, one could even imagine commands on it that act on the main view (position, orientation, scale...).

With my simulator sickness, I had to make custom maps where I wouldn't get lost and have to scroll around too much. -

Elfegehenne MergedThe game Timberborn is very catchy and very addictive. After a few hours of play, I find that a mini-map is tersely missing. Like the one for example in Pharaho (and its new-era version) which allows to be located on the map (that we cannot see in full) by clicking on schematized elements which here would be the waterways (clear or polluted), the districts and their connection network for example.
A quick cancellation of the last action would also be welcome (maybe it exists but I did not find it).
