Set Desired water level depth for Water (Fluid) Dumps and Mechanical Pumps
At the moment I can think of very few situations for using water dumps, since the water output is so inconsistent. Making the dump stop at a settable water level should allow for lots of new ideas and strategies around water management

This would be very helpful in draining a polder, a game play i'm thinking about. (i'm dutch:P) -

Thaina YuForgot to post this suggestion but I want it too
I want to have ability to put water dump in the existing river I have contruct the dam. And set it to refill to 0.5 or 1 level lower. So that it will stop in wet season when the dam was filled with water(at -0.5 level) and start when level of water dropped in dry season
But on the other hand there was also this idea that overlapped
https://timberborn.featureupvote.com/suggestions/215198/beaver-automatorsif-this-then-thatraise-and-lower-dams-automatically-with-a-beav
And if it about consistency I have suggest this

KibblesnbitsAn add-on to this might be to make the water markers nameable, then add the ability to pair the water dump to the marker, allowing monitoring and setting of a maximum height limit

ZeirlynnYes. Currently the dump keeps dumping when the water level is 1.0 (referring to a 1-tile-deep pool), making it flood onto the surface around it, which for some reason causes instant-shut-down!!! of whatever building gets just a little bit wet. I'd like for the dumps to only fill to, say, 0.8, then stop so it doesn't flood things around it.

Voidseeker MergedWhat if, when you built a Stream Gauge near/next to a "Fluid" Pump or Mechanical "fluid" pump you could set a max height value which would automatically prevent the nearby/adjacent pumps from exceeding/"Overflowing" whatever your pumping the water into?

VillskapThis would be very useful for automating irrigation over changing terrain levels, as you can put a mechanical pump sticking over the edge of the terrain height change but set it to 1 depth output so it doesn't overflow. Pumps already have a depth limit for how much they will take, makes a lot of sense to control output depth as well.

OoImbalol#7377With the new Sluices they already got a system ingame that works for this. This would really help with keeping Dammed up sections of the River filled without having to micro-manage the Fluid dump on/off.

Skeletron01Maybe adding a min and max slider to these. One issue I have noticed with the mechanical pumps is if they are filling a lake (a closed area with nowhere for the water to flow) they constantly turn on and off causing the water to splash up onto the land. (Maybe just in the experimental branch. haven't checked if it does this in the main branch). I think we should be able to set a slider for the minimum water level (say 0.5) and when it is below this it will start to fill to the maximum water level (say 0.95). This will help with the splashing issue I have noticed and give us more fine control over the pumps.

JosephI was just about to post this kind of suggestion! It would be nice if the fluid pumps used a similar UI as the sluices

Derrick MergedIn using the mechanical water pump to remove water from a downstream reservoir, it will keep running until it hits a specified downstream level which is often higher than I need it to be, causing it to run continuously during the wet season. It would nice to be able to customize this level down to the .05 like you can do with the flood gates and sluices.

noname MergedBoth the fluid dump height and mechanical pump height is fixed at 0.9, I hope that helps.

SmolChungus Mergedmaybe even two levels, it stops pumping at a certain level and starts pumping below a certain level

Poroi agree, currently on map of Meanders, there is small hole which can be easily filled with mechanical fluid pump, but it keeps turning on and off again and again, seeing the number for power go up by 700 every half second seems bad.. would love ability similar to sluice - set it to turn on when fluid is at 0,5 and to go off when it is like 0,9 - with ability to have it to turned on when it is in that range, of set it on when it drops below acceptable range

JurgenWe need this. Please make it happen.
Just like the water sluice
Also make the powered pump more powerful. -

WhiteRoo MergedPlease add a maximum depth setting to the fluid dump, so it can be combined with dams in river beds to make sections that are kept filled in the dry seasons without overflowing the height of the dams around it.
