Gatherers and Farmers should consider their Carrying capacity when harvesting
When gathering berries or farming crops, beavers harvest a single plant and then head back to the structure. Instead, they should check, 'Can I carry another plant's worth of food with my current hauling limit?' and if true, harvest another planet.
This will make farming and gathering more efficient, and makes well-fed farmers particularly efficient.

Jcheung Mergedallow farmers to harvest more than one plant (proximity to last harvested plant, mature plant or farm whichever is closer) until carrying capacity is reached
to somewhat compensate,
reduce carrying capacity by 5ish units for "tools" or whatever
planting requires seeds, half unit or less carrying capacity per plot of planting -

spaladino95Allow farmers to harvest and leave the crates, enable haulers to be able to collect these crates. Maybe add it with a balance feature of only happens when the Weather Station(https://timberborn.featureupvote.com/suggestions/215361/weather-station-high-cost-research) says a drought is approaching and during the drought. Set priority of farmed crops to the crops not within an irrigation tower.

Jam MergedFirst game ever. One of my two farms works flawlessly, another seemed to have problems. Very often a lot of crops were not harvested on time. Looking closely, turns out the farmers were immediately bringing the single crop they just harvested to the warehouse.
I tried playing with the priorities, including the hauling, and whatever I did I also set on the other farm. It worked as expected for the good farm and changed nothing in the weird behavior of the bad farm.
After destroying and rebuilding the bad farm, it now works flawlessly. I have no idea what might have caused it, but I'll email you the save and logs.
Thanks for working on the game! Finally decided to give it a try and I'm having a blast :D -

Gin Fuyou Admin MergedThanks for playing on the behalf of the dev team!
No it worked always like that as far as I know, please see https://timberborn.featureupvote.com/suggestions/260481/gatherers-and-farmers-should-consider-their-carrying-capacity-when-harvesting -

Donkey In The Sea MergedCurrent behavior:
Harvest a crop → return to the farmhouse to store it → harvest the next crop
Desired logic:
Harvest a crop → check if there is enough capacity to carry another crop
If yes → harvest the next crop → check capacity again
If no → return to the farmhouse to store the crops
This would greatly improve efficiency. They often still have available carrying capacity, yet keep returning to store items repeatedly, wasting a lot of transport time. -
